^ I'm more optimistic about this show than you but I think you could be right about Hilltop, it's suspicious that he had access to those VS Changers.

It's not suspicious. It's convenient, a staple from both Super Sentai and Kamen Rider. If they don't have the Changers, they couldn't fight the Lupinrangers, and villians therefore the whole series wouldn't exist... Most of the time, it doesn't matter where the powers come from. It's not important like Power Rangers, which they have an explanation, sometimes silly, where and how the MCs get the Power. Eg, Megaforce/SMF vs Gokaigers. Hilltop it's not Lupin's descendant. He's the comic relief. It's the Jun Hongangi of this series. The guy is a comedian, and he's popular right now. My bet it's in one of the two new Rangers ("sixth"), Lupin X or Pat X.

^you know Lupin X and Pat X are the same person right?
Also am I the only one hoping that a friendship blooms between a Lupinranger and a Patranger before the Lupin Rangers identities are revealed?

My feeling is if a friendship dose develop it will be between Lupin Yellow and Patren Sango being the only girls on the two teams.

According to the pre-show bios, Pat-2 has a crush on LupinYellow, so they might be the ones. They are also currently each most positive about the opposing team

In that case it's perfect. He works for both teams, he doesn't a clear allegiance, and probably he's the Lupin's descendant. Boom! Mistery solved. And yet I'm still not sold in the Giant Robo. The three airplanes are meh, and the three vehicles...I was expecting something more like a patrol unit, with more sirens. These are...trucks? Vans? Tanks? I don't know.

Episode 2: Lupinranger's back story a bit mysterious, and regarding the Patranger, the Red Ranger is letting them down badly in my opinion. He's too stubborn for my liking. But then all Red Rangers are stubborn!

But then all Red Rangers are stubborn! Nope, I am gonna have to disagree with you on that statement about all sentai red rangers being stubborn. I have only seen a few sentai shows that were adapted into Power Rangers and nope. Geki (Tyranno Ranger)...he ain't the stubborn type. Neither are Ryou (Ryuuranger), Sasuke (Ninja Red), Tatsuya (Time Red), Kakeru (Gao Red), Ryoga (Aba Red), or Akashi (Bouken Red). In fact, I can count several sentai red rangers that are more of the Inept-type aka..."the idiot reds" than there are stubborn red rangers. Kyosuke (Red Racer), Kai (Magi Red), Right (Toq #1), Takeharu (Akaninger) and Lucky (Shishi Red), but he's debate-able.

I just watched episode 2. I've never seen mecha action like this before, it's amazing. Dial Fighters vs Trigger Machines and Lupin Kaizer vs Garatto. This is revolutionary CGI!
Patranger is the first team to use the Good Striker finisher merging in to Patren U which is basically the Sentai version of Den-O Climax Form. Goche's special Lupin Collection is a syringe that enlarges the Ganglers. Good switches sides to help Lupinranger destroy giant Garatto.
We learn something new about Kairi's character. He respects Keiichirou's promise to make Garatto pay for his crime and leaves the Patrangers to deal with him after taking the Lupin Collection. Touma seems less obliged to maintain an amicable rivalry which could fuel the conflict in the future.
Umika's dead friend is female. That wasn't obvious like "bro" and "partner".

FINALLY watched Episode #01 last night. It was pretty good. Nice to know how the Lupinrangers' zords have more than two functions besides as zords & a means to access their powers. I'm all ready trying to think up names for the villains for a potential adaptation.

Episode 2: DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1) Okay, the action is top notch. The chase scene, was kind of dumb, I mean, the Lupinrangers have airplanes, they could fly anywhere, but I think it wasn´t the point of the scene, but it was AWESOME. Even if I don´t like the design so much (I don't hate them, like TQGer Robos, or "Zyuohger blocks"), the scene sold them pretty well. Kudos, producers/director. Well, done. 2) Sad backstories for the Lupinrangers. We saw this coming, but I like it. I mean, the three lost somebody important (besides other people around who didn't matter in the plot), which basically it's the same backstory for the three (a brother, a fiancé, and a high school friend/ BFF), but it gives some kind of communion between the three, and to fight for the same reason; it's very important for the team. It's better than last year Kyuranger, which we didn't know most of the backstories, or the reason to fight. 3) The Patrangers weapons are kind of dumb, but oh well, the kids gonna love it. Still, I was expecting another thing from megaphones. The taser baton is cool. Lupinrangers sword are cool. But I´m confused for the whole magic hand mode, but, OK, I get it. 4) Sentient mecha GoodStriker. I'm not big fan of talking mecha. Any talking mecha. It's distracting. And pointless. But, oh well, I think we need something kawaii, and to interact with the cute Rangers, A.K.A. Lupinyellow (and probably Tsukasa/3gou). Both modes are cool. 5) HELLYEEEEAHMECHABATTLE!!!! Did you see that battle? Pretty damn good. God, I was fond of the "mecha with big guns doing roll/ shooting/Matrix stuff" like TimeRobo Beta mode, or Dekaranger Robo, so the finisher, with rapid fire, was AWESOME, with capital letters. For other part, I really love the cockpits, specially the Dialfighter ones. Look like they riding bikes, or Evangelion cockpits... too cool, and the fact the cockpits transform, it's pretty cool too. 6) For other part, we didn't know anything (about backstories or motivations) for the Patrangers. Yet, I'm not mad. I have patience. And i'm already sold in this series. To this point, awesome. Love this series so far. The characters are not "I'M FIRED UP/YOSSHA LUCKY"-level of annoyance, which it's a plus, but I'm digging the story and motivations. The villians are Meh, so far, but oh well, It's episode 2 so far. I hope they keeping this level. I know we don't gonna have mechas battles like this, but heck, I hope they keep digging in the characters.

Umika's dead friend is female. That wasn't obvious like "bro" and "partner". If her friend were male, it's likely viewers would think he was her boyfriend, and that angle is already being done with Touma ...
