So far the first 2 episodes have been good
The storyline between the two teams and the general plot getting the pieces of the Lupin Collection is well done. Not exactly getting this sense of rush the same way that Kyuranger opened up, but the cliffhangers at the end make you want to give in for to the next week.
What's going to happen when the Patrens come to the Bistro? Watch it be anticlimatic but these two teams are going to get friendly.

And now we know who the man in white is:

Umika's dead friend is female. That wasn't obvious like "bro" and "partner". If her friend were male, it's likely viewers would think he was her boyfriend, and that angle is already being done with Touma ... I don't think most viewers are that presumptuous.

There is another way to adapt this by bringing back the concept of Power Rangers Hexagon.

Plus there's Sakuya's crush on her (likely leading to an inter-team romance down the line) and he'd probably be jealous if he found out she was doing this for some other guy

I really hate Tsukasa's first episode (and the scans, and the OP ...) being all about how much she loves "cute" things. Like saying: don't worry, she's still girly despite being a competent police officer! I absolutely hate that kind of character (Kiriko from Drive, BoukenPink are similar examples.)
You could argue it's not sexist and is just the inverse of a character like GokaiBlue who was tough but they made a point of showing him crying, liking to bake, etc. I still dislike it either way; it's basically saying the character is not OK as they are and has to be made vulnerable in order to appeal to viewers

When was that ever established? Because I don't remember an episode or two from Kamen Rider Drive and GoGo Sentai Boukenger where they admitted that they like cute things. I remember in Boukenger that Sakura was pretty handy with semi-automatic machine guns and she does like parfait and she used to be a rich heiress, but later joined the military because she either wasn't being taking serious or she was bored of her rich heiress lifestyle and wants some excitement in her life. I don't know, it's been three years since I've rewatched Boukenger. Now, Kiriko. Well, I do seemed to recall that her character suddenly shifted from how she was written in the first 25 episodes of the show, to her being rescued all the time and being in a romantic subplot with Shinnosuke in the final episodes. But, I still wanted her to become a Kamen Rider in Drive, though. Also, I am not understanding what you meant in your argument in the part about the whole "characters not having vulnerability in order to appeal to viewers". So, is this like a problem with how the characters are either being portrayed by the actors or how they are being written in the show? Because if it's a problem with the writing, then I can understand that. But, you can't really blame this one on the actors since they are just doing their jobs and they have to work with what was being given to them. I say blame it on the writers and producers of the show and the episode directors.

^ I'm thinking of stuff like Kiriko being constantly teased to smile by Shinnosuke, Sakura being dressed up as a princess or dressed up cutesy to go undercover in (iirc?) a TV station, etc. It's basically the same thing as with Tsukasa: the idea that viewers find those traits appealing, so we have to show the character is still girly and cute despite being a tough cop, soldier, etc. And, yeah, I'm talking about the writing rather than the actors' performance; I'm sure they do the best they can.
I think a good example of the opposite is Kamen Rider Amazons: when Takai's asked to pose as Haruka's girlfriend so they can break into a restaurant run by Amazons, she tries to smile and look less stiff, but admits she can't and it doesn't come naturally to her. And everyone's OK with that and accepts her as she is. Misaki is a "manly" type of guy but is also the most sensitive and emotional of the exterminators, and that comes across as natural, not something tacked on for viewer appeal. But Tsukasa loving stuffed toys feels to me like a blatant push to make her "cute" so viewers like her. in the same vein, I think Keiichirou liking chocolate (which in Japan is seen as girly/childish behaviour for a man) fits naturally with his personality whereas Touma squealing over kittens or being afraid of spiders or something would feel forced

Yeah, well. I have never seen Kamen Rider Amazons, before. So, I wouldn't know. I just think of it as a like bad reboot of the original Kamen Rider Amazon just for the sake of being all "bloody and gory and dark and angsty."
But anayways, today's episode. Yeah, I hate it. Sorry. I am just not going to put up with anymore of the fans' bullshit about the show getting "better" in the later episodes for this year. Like I did with Kyuuranger. I mean, I was suckered by a bunch people into thinking that Kyuuranger was getting better, last year. But now. After marathoning all the episodes, last month on New Year's day just to get to the final episodes. I might as well just place a dunce hat on my head and go stand in the corner. So, I am just gonna do everyone a favor and not bother watching the show afterwards, and go watch something else that is worth my time.
