Another image from Flashpoint Beyond alluding a bit to Doomsday Clock, as well as emphasising that 5G is no more bleedingcool.com/comics/geoff-johns-has-killed-off-5g-with-flashpoint-beyond/Also, been catching up on Byrne's X-Men Elsewhen and...geez, the 'Child Phoenix' saga is again going with another 'Jean goes nuts' storyline, can we get anything new even from professional fanfiction?

Well against my better judgment I checked out the Superman & Robin special &....it's alright. There's some lip service regarding Jon's childhood being stolen but beyond that it's a typical Super-Sons adventure where Jon & Damian have to deal with that Cube from the Cooke tribute story arc in Superman & all the mess it brings. This just...really makes me hate the stuff afterwards & currently can we please just bring Tomasi back to the Superman brand?
Superman'78 ends on a good note. Brainiac's defeated, Superman saves Metropolis, & stuff goes back to the same old same old as Superman flys off as the John Williams score plays off. Fun series all around.

The World's Finest back-up strip in Detective Comics jobs out Clark hard to Metallo, it's largely about the competence of Batman and Robin (makes sense, it is 'Tec after all)

Batman/Catwoman Special
A series of one page 'interludes' showing the progression of Selina Kyle from infancy, starting with her being found orphaned in a dumpster. When she was older, she was a guest at Wayne manor due to family connections and talked often to young Bruce's portrait, drawing him pictures of a cat and wanting to be his best friend. Later years see her run away from home and begin thieving, gradually winding up in prison and later Arkham where she meets The Joker.
At this point, there is a time skip, she is now established as Catwoman and in love with Batman. She wonders during a fight with him just what she is to him, a criminal, a lover, a game? More time elapses and she's living with Bruce, a bit hesitant to open gifts with him at Christmas, later she talks to Alfred, then we see her pregnant with Helena. The story continues to progress with the Bat Family having adventures together with Selina mentoring her daughter. Then it gradually shows a very aged Bruce and Selina having the occasional argument, followed by a sweeter moment. The usual ups and downs of a married life. We see moments where Selina spares the Joker's life and helps out a dementia-ridden Riddler. Shortly after Bruce's death from cancer, Selina tells him he was an idiot to assume the pain of grief meant remembering a good life, and that nothing good was coming of the grief she felt for his loss.
Finally, while tending to a stray cat in an alley, the elderly Selina is confronted in the street by a thug who demands she hand over her diamonds. She tells him he's pretty terrible at what he's doing, and he guns her down, killing her

Boy, Beyond just got ten times better this week
There's a set up for Kafka becoming Queen Goblin, Ben is having his memories rebooted, but he's forgotten the "responsibility" part of "With Great Power", Peter gets some re-training by Captain America and Felicia, and Mary Jane gets to dress up as Black Cat and pull off a heist on Tombstone
The latter is very interesting considering Tombstone is the 'big bad' of Zeb Wells and Romita Jr's upcoming Amazing Spider-Man run||, I feel that's foreshadowing a lot to come for both that character and MJ. I'm very confident now that Marvel are setting up MJ to take over as Spider-Man at some point.

I love my but I don't want her being a super hero. I like it in stuff like that what if series where it was spider family as heroes. But I don't want to see it all the time in main line.

Bad news, everyone!! IDW lost the licensing rights to Transformers and G.I. Joe. I wonder why?!?!Yeah that's already been covered like 2 pages ago & we mostly assume why. IDW's been tanking in sells & probably some contracts are drying up for the 2 brands.

Phillip Kennedy Johnson's AMA www.reddit.com/r/DCcomics/comments/sac7ic/ama_announcement_phillip_kennedy_johnson_action/He doesn't go into a lot of detail about the direction of the book, not wanting to spoil anything post-Warworld or even post-Deth of Justice League. What he does tease though is that they will finally be addressing Bendis' decision to have Clark let Jon go into space with Jor-El and how it truly does haunt Clark to his core, which leads him to make new decisions about his family. He also confirms he is staying on the book 'as long as DC let him' and that he'd like to use Connor at some point.
