The second season was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad that I don't know if I want to wacth it. Nice Fxs. Apparently season three is really good, it now has a showrunner who worked on older Star Trek series, so the quality has improved.

I enjoyed most of season two. But ya I can see why alot of folks didn't like certain stuff. As for start of season 3. It was a nice build up of the story arch. I am curious to see how story plays out and learn more on bev. And the other next gen group.

Another highly emotional character-focused episode, looks like we've concluded the first act, and in a manner that turns a captivating sink or swim survival story into the embodiment of what the Star Trek mission is all about! Were those space babies the Farpoint species? Looked like it, and Picard did name drop Farpoint in a scene prior. Yeah, a pregnant nebula is the kind of nuts 90s Trek story you want to slot into a sink or swim survival epic
Shaw takes one unlikeable step and then takes another lovable one. We learn something new with each journey he goes on Here we learn he has depression and PTSD from the Battle of Wolf 359
A clue to the final Changeling reveal was kind of present in the recap, and you'll figure it out also when Shaw and Seven are having their chat about what a Changeling would say to give itself away
So in the flashbacks Jack did reach out to Jean-Luc when he was younger, though Picard did not know who he was and he told him that starfleet was his only family. Tsk, tsk

Picard S3 Episode Five
A 30 year pay off to "Premptive Strike" as Ro returns to lead an investigation into Picard's actions...but it turns out the starship that's intercepted the Titan is after Jack and is compromised by Changelings. Beverly discovers the Changelings have evolved their state and can pass blood tests and even pass for genuine human organs
We get a much needed Conversation between Picard and Ro, as their mutual sense of betrayal convinces the other they are on the same side
One thing I don't get is The Changelings don't disable the shuttle before planting the explosive charge, it basically allows Ro to fly straight into the Intrepid and damage it...but then, with what Riker says about the Intrepid framing the Titan, maybe they were counting on Ro to make such a sacrifice knowing it would play into their chess game?
And I think what happens with Jack Took a page or two out of Kingsman

Sorry for the lack of updates to the thread since March, got a little too busy, but I have remained a viewer and boy did that penultimate episode reduce me to tears
I know the big reveal of what was behind the red door will probably disappoint people who've been watching Picard throughout and opens up a wealth of continuity errors, like how much of season two is now relevant, but there really wasn't anyone else it could have been. TNG was episodic back in the day, and the only long-term threats to the crew were few and far between. This season ticked all of them off, Ferengi, Lore, Q etc, but that left the only other foe, and it's the Borg. The Borg are at the core of Picard's continuous struggles, his one consistent arc throughout his era, from the show to the movies, it was always going to be them again.
Interestingly, the Borg Queen is voiced by her original actress from First Contact, but is represented by an out-of-focus body double. Maybe they didn't have the time or budget to bring her in and spend it on make-up? Maybe she'll even speak through Jack now that he surrendered to assimilation? I know there's a father/son 'power of love' ending" next week being set up here that will magically handwave the Borg's control of the entire fleet, but eh.
Enterprise D being revealed was the big emotional moment of course, I had seen spoilers the day before but it still hit me. This is the crew I grew up with, who we all grew up with, coming home and the last line of defence. The last Generation must come to save the next.

This week episode was wicked great. And the twist with the Borg did not expect that. And the end reveal that Jordi for past 20th built the enterprise d over was great. And the set looked great. And I was so happy to hear enterprise d computer voice.
