Probably for cinematic synergy. Not too angry at this since it doesn't really interfere with her actual origins. Still looking forward to Kelly Thompson time with the character. It's been a very uninteresting last few years with Carol & she needs a booster shot of creative talent.

Stohl's run seem to have been mixed with fans. Only piece I read from the run was the Infinity Countdown tie-in & Life of Captain Marvel. There's seems to be a running theme of Carol "trying to discover herself" & it seems repetitive. I don't know I think after Civil War II Carol went off the rails for some folk.
