Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger Discussion Thread

I also like Ghost, it's my 5th favorite Heisei Rider season and has some great themes about friendship and the challenges of life. And Ryusoulger is pretty good. It has problems but it's easily better than Kyoryuger and I'm enjoying it.

Yeah about Ghost & friendship! It's the same with Fourze. It's why a lot of my friends say that I'm the most like Fourze! Ultraman Mebius also showed the Power of Friendship!

His strength came from friendship! Remember what Kengo's dad wrote that made him realize that Gentaro was the best person to be Fourze?

It resulted in Kengo finally accepting Gentaro as his best friend and the rest of the club as his friends.

I echo your feelings about Ryusoulger The movie: it's not bad. OKish, I must say. But Ilike TQGer vs Kyoryuger, even if it's pretty stupid, I like Utchy being transformed into a baby. And Ian holding back his impulses of hitting in the (very) young female TQGers: "they are cute, but I have a limit".

I watched the final episode of Ryusoulger. I have a lot to process, but, without spoilers, this is what I like and dislike:

I liked:
- some monsters-of-the-week
- fight choreographies
- some mechas
- best mecha fights since Go-Busters (the first scene of the final episode, with the three main mecha charging against Eras, was so cool)
- the concept of armors, and how every Ranger (in theory) could use (except Max Ryusoul). Hell, even Noblesse, which it's just a cape, it could be used by everywhere.
- the last 8 episodes.
- Asuna and Melto. Some moments of Towa and Bamba. Some. I like some parts of Naohisa/Setoh. Some parts of Oto. She was useful. Less insufferable than Canalo.
- The message of the season

Things I didn't like:

- The main villains were boring.
- Kreon and Wiserue being mostly incompetent, goofy, but doing the most important things in the season (not even Pricious was this important in the end)
- Canalo
- Some mecha designs. The toys seems to have the expectative of "create your own Megazord", but in the show it looks so unimaginative. Kishiryu-Oh Five Knights looks soooooo ugly, with that chest plate and the green....thing behind its head. It was hard to watch.
- No Giant Robo or Megazord with the six Rangers. Or Ultrazord. Even Lupat and its ugly CGI Good Cool Kaiser.... VSX...whatever (what a name) was something. I don't like clusterf12k Mechas, but, it symbolize the union of the team.
- Nada should stay a little more. I liked his death, and how unpredictable it was, but the writers could build a little more of dynamics between him and the rest of the cast before.....poof.
- Canalo
- Ryusoul Brown. I get it, people wanted a new color so much. I never see the point of a Brown Ranger, but here we are. He fight for a minute and then....gone. This is what people wanted? He barely anything to do, plot-wise. He did more unmorphed.
- the execution of plot points.

- the lack of build up to the endgame. Eras should be hinted before. The Civil War, which leads me to...
- The whole Civil War between the Ryusoul tribes, the animosity between them it lasted like one or two episodes. Only MosaRex had a general distrust of the Land Tribe, the rest, like Oto y Canalo, didn't care. Well, Canalo didn't care about anything, except a wife.
- Koh's bipolar?
- Canalo. Canalo. Canalo.
I don't hate this season, but I don't like it either. It's pretty boring, for the most part. I dunno. I expected more. When Toei said "dinosaurs", I said "Again?". But, the first episodes were pretty good. With a lot of hope and expectatives. Then, it deflated pretty fast, after eight episodes, and here we are. The last episodes were the best.
I hope more for Kirameiger.
