I saw some raw of the first episode, and I say: Wow! And I mean Wow! That was intense. I have to watch it again with subs, because my japanese is bad, and I lost a couple of things but... Don't get too attached to the Masters. They die protecting their apprentices. Red, fighting Tankjo, the general of the bad guys, and Blue and Pink, protecting Melt and Asuna. The latter, was awful, being wipe out from a fire breath of a Dragon. Damn, this set the tone for the series. Still, Kou released the Tyramigo with KishiRyuuOh Three Knights formation for himself. The other two, Blue and Pink, didn't do much. I hope this is not some prelude to a "Daigo 2.0".... I didn't watch such a dramatic start since Liveman, with the death and all. Pretty impressive.
I know this gonna be different, because the writer was more a J-Drama writer, but, damn...

I can't wait to start watching this. There is a problem with the Super-Sentai page. Certain pictures aren't appearing regardless of the computer viewed on. Can't see Red, his main RyuSoul, Tyramigo, and the foot soldiers.

Watched the first episode after the third episode of Power Rangers Beast Morphers. DAMN! I didn't expect for the first episode to pull a Liveman! That was so good and the morph/henshin... I'm gonna be obsessed with it for a long time.

Where'd you watch it??? Edit: Having a problem with the Super-Sentai.net page. Certain pictures like Koh, Tyramigo, the morpher, the Red Soul & Drunn Soldiers won't appear regardless of the computer I'm on. Does anyone have the link to the Drunn Soldiers images??? Like this: super-sentai.net/ryusoul/teki/still_01minosaur-kanzentai01.jpg No Inserting Image. Just watched the first episode. HOLY CRAP! It was great seeing Hideki Goh aka Ultraman Jack's human host! That outsider girl was kind of cute. Too early to determine things about the Rangers themselves.

I rewatched the first episode with subs, and I must say, I didn't miss much. Some dialogue, but meh. I'm getting better. I focused more now in the camera work: now I see a little more what people say about this director. He films completely different from Koichi Sakamoto or Ryuta Tasaki. The cuts and edition are different, fast. The camera angles are different. The mecha fight was fast paced. Impressive. Now, I watched some reviews for the Tyramigo toy, and Kyshiryu-Oh three knights, and now I believe it grown in me. I like it more than Kyoryuzin, from Kyouryuger. Well, I never liked Kyoryuzin. I'm the guy who liked more the Korean version, from Dino Force Brave. Probably I like more this mecha 'cause is less stiff, and the variations you can play are more. Still, it can't surpass Daizyujin or AbarenOh. Yet, I think the kids gonna love it. Also, it looks like parts of Lego. (Cheeky Bandai. First Minecraft in ZyuOhger, now this. Everything for the survival of Super Sentai) Damn, I'm excited. Still, too soon to say. Oh yeah, I'm not too fond of the CGI little....dancing knights? Souls? in the transformation, but oh, well. The roll call is cool. The opening is a visual drug. It's beautiful.

Why does Master Pink look so familiar?

She was the star of the live action Sailor Moon series.

Funny enough, Well, not so funny, but Master Blue, besides of being KR Ibuki in Hibiki, played Mamoru/Tuxedo Mask/Endymion in the live action of Sailor Moon. Yeap. Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask died at the same time. Almost romantic.

Okay guys, I finally watched episode 1. I'm using TV Nihon for this show due to my preferences.
Starting with already low expectations, I wasn't overly disappointed but I still have mixed feelings about it.
Kishiryu Oh 3 Knights kind of just came out nowhere without any flair.
Melt is the least interesting character so far. Like Touma and Tsukasa last season, the serious ranger feels incomplete at the start and should hopefully become more complex later. In my opinion, Touma stayed the least interesting of the 7 L/P rangers while Tsukasa improved significantly. However, I thought Zyuohger had the best serious ranger recently with Tusk who was immediately interesting and a great contrast to his quirky teammates.
Compared to him, Kou and Asuna are already established, albeit only on the surface. Kou is an optimist and Asuna is modest. Both traditionally chivalrous knight traits.
I have a concern that this is going to be a very red-focused season much like Shinkenger and Kyoryuger. Ryusoul Red piloted Kishiryu Oh 3 Knights and defeated the Mynasaur while Melt and Asuna did nothing. Even though their Kishiryu partners were part of the Gattai.
The masters' "deaths" (I'm sure they're fine) didn't have any meaning considering it's the first episode and we know very little about them.
I appreciated the symbolism with Master Red telling Kou their souls are one. Swords in Japan are thought to contain the souls of previous generations. It gives me a Bakumatsu feeling which is appropriate since Japan is once more on the brink of a new era.
Creon is a cool general.
The backstory for the Kishiryu being inventions of the Ryusoul Tribe's ancestors is a good way to distinguish them from the other dinosaur mecha. Seriously, 65000000 years ago is getting crowded with all the bad guys and tribes.
I can't comment on Zyuranger since I haven't watched it.
Abaranger's Blastasaurs were modern dinosaurs from another dimension where they never went extinct. Their mutation is never elaborated on in the backstory, all we know is that in the last 65000000 years, they somehow mutated in to modern Blastasaurs. Insert head canon here.
Kyoryuger's Voltasaurs were blessed by Kenjin Torin.
The absence of Banba and Towa was acceptable since they already had 4 cameos in Strongest Battle, that's more pre-season TV cameos than Gaim and Ghost! Makes sense to focus on the other 3 rangers.
The OP is enjoyable, as expected since I previously enjoyed Lucky Star. I wonder if the return of the ending theme was due to L/P's ratings decline. It was totally different for Kamen Rider. When Agito omitted the ending, it stuck as the new status quo with only the unconventional Hibiki being an exception and the staff change incident omitted it once more.
Thus concludes my analysis of the first episode. So far, so meh. At least it's not as bad as Kyuranger's rushed first episode, although this was still kind of fast paced, even without the full team.

^ Well, Ryusoulger had almost the same backstory than Zyuranger: tribes of humans that live with dinosaurs (except the timeframe, Zyu was 170 million years ago, Ryusoulger was 65 million years ago). Curiously, this is one mistake that share both series: humans never coexisted with dinosaurs. The dinosaurs coexisted with small mammals, that probably evolved into humans. That, if you believe in evolution. If you are more of a Creationist, ignore it. Interesting, Daizyujin is the god of the tribes in Zyuranger, soooooo..... The second mistake is the Saber-Tooth Tiger, or Smilodon. They never coexisted with dinos, but humans. Again, extinct but closer. In the Ice Age. The 2nd ep was out. It felt more than a first episode, than the original first ep. It is a strange series. It's action packed. But veeeeeery, very strange.
