Wow. Major revelations and surprises in tonight's episode Captain Jack Harkness returned with a forboding message about the Cybermen, the Judoon were in the employ of a renegade Gallifreyan, and their fugitive, tour guide Ruth, is an incarnation of The Doctor

Me neither. It’s the valeyard, Dream Lord, and War Doctor all over again.

It’s just more feminist BS being crammed into the show by Chidball & Whittaker all while giving the middle finger to the show’s lore.
No wonder Doctor Who is bleeding viewers like there is no tomorrow.

At first I thought Ruth before the reveal was The Rani.

Hey we shouldn't get so bent out of shapr. Every showrunner changes and adds to who lore. I am curious to see where this storyline with master, doctor planet gone. And this Ruth doctor and what it all means. It was fun seeing jack again. As I never expected to see him or others from davis/other showrunner allies again. But always fun getting to see old allies with new doctors. U do agree a tad ya they get get a little heavy handed in the whole woman doctor angle and what not. Heck I still didn't expect Jodi reveal when it happened. I fully expect a none white male first before a lady regen. But I still enjoy the whole and the characters.

From what I read from a member in the Doctor Who group on Facebook she might or might not be a incarnation between the second & third doctors since his Regeneration for his exile wasn’t shown.

Second Doctor had the sonic screwdriver, and Ruth doesn't recognise it in that incarnation.

well maybe it will be like the war doctor and ruth memories of past incarnations was cut off and that explains the sonic. I am sure there is more to the story. So lets see where they take the story before blowing up.

I don't think it's a danger to the show's lore. I was a fan of the Cartmel Masterplan in the 1980s, which would have blown the lid on everything to do with The Doctor had it gone through. Imagine what the fan reaction would have been to Looms and Lungbarrow...I'd have eaten it up.
Ultimately, The Doctor's had a lot of trappings for a long time. His backstory is almost entirely known now, Moffat even showed his childhood back in series 8. We need the mystery back, a pre-hartnell cycle, something already established as possible in the Brain of Morbius, is our best bet with that.

An interesting episode last night. It was fun seeing the team spilt up trying to solve 3 different cases. That all tied to each other. The alien plastic plot was funky and it was fun seeing how the doc saved things.
