Why can't we just include sequel talk in a single thread about Black Panther? I don't see the point in creating new threads for each sequel.

Purple it makes sense to have separate threads for each movie. So we can talk about that specific film topic Vs clogging up old threads. More so if it's been 2 or 3 years from last film. And thread for last one been locked, deleted and isn't there a rule from mod bringing back threads that haven't had talk in them for over a year.

So wanted to see what does every one expect marvel to do with black panther t'challa role with Chadwick sadly passing wanted to see what folks think marvel and Disney likely will do with role and sequel.
For me I expect a recasting. As sad as it is with Chadwick gone. I really can't or expect marvel to write out the role just cause of him passing. Who to replace him I can't say bit there is loads of many known and unknown talented black actors out there. Who could fill the role well and be a champion for justice and all Chad was on and off the screen.
As for shuri I do expect they will probably build her character up more. To lead her becoming her own panther in other projects. Like young avengers TV show or film. While t'challa is doing avengers stuff.

A recast of T'Challa with a tribute to Chadwick.

They will not recast T’Challa, that’d be a massive slap in the face.
The solution is easy, Letitia Wright leads the film as Shuri takes over as Black Panther. Wakanda Forever.

Yes because all *checks notes* ONE previous female led MCU films is just way too much.

I guess someone didn’t read the comics of Shuri becoming Black Panther.

I like I said I can't see them offing the role and killing all plans they had going forward with t. Just cause Chad passed. Yes it's sad yes he was great in and out of role. Doesn't mean another wonderful actor can't be just like Chad was on and off screen. Plus I feel it's more of a slap to fans of character to off the role just cause actor is gone. Yes marvel hasn't recast due to death yet. Mostly been money and schedule reasons. But you can't expect them to get rid of characters just cause actor is gone.
Now like I said I myself not against shuri in sequel getting built up and develop costume and powers for her self. So you have her version and t version at same time. So you can have both doing there thing. And then like I said shuri can be spun off to her own thing, young avengers/champions line of shows/films in the works. Plus you still have t to be in BP 3, others solo films and future team films.
Then you also have to look at the money, comics, toy side of things. They will not stop doing male BP toys, marvel probably not going to off t again any time soon in the books. To say no one else can't do the role is bs I'm my book. Same if you start BP 2 off saying t is missing or died in some fight off careen is a waste to the character itself.

If you’d pay any attention to social media whatsoever, you’d see fans are overwhelmingly against recasting. It wouldn’t be a slap to them, it’d be honoring them. Fans will be mad and upset if they recast.
And I can’t believe you keep saying “just cause” Chadwick died. That language suggests you think his real death is less important than these fictional characters.
Yes, they will continue to make male Black Panther toys. That doesn’t require Chadwick’s or anyone else’s presence in films. They will also continue to make Iron Man and Captain America toys even though they’re dead in the films too.

I don't think that at all.

Sorry I was a bit snippy and I didn’t mean to be. I’m just saying the actor dying is more than enough reason to retire a character. Like how Joker wasn’t featured in The Dark Knight Rises or Paul Walker’s character hasn’t returned in the Fast and Furious sequels.

Sure I get your view. For me I don't think they would drop the characrer. But again we won't know what marvel going to do. To we know if sequel still plans to shoot next year for 2022 release. I expect film probably going to be bump off 2022 slot. With ant man likely to take it alot. As of films near ready to go besides other films due to film next year. I think it would take BP slot. Or even marvel 2 take it slot and what ever takes BP then take marvel original slot.
I for one would hate to see them drop t from future plans. And like I said I would just hate to see it handled with a off screen death and that just be a lousy way to handle things in my book. As much as I hate recasting roles some times. I would like to see role still used and like I said I am sure there is some wonderful actor who could do role great. I can't say who as I not to verse on mod 30s/early 40s African/African American actors.

As much as it does suck I think it's very likely they will recast when BP2 starts making buzz. 2 major reasons being of course are A) They're not just going to end T'Challa's story 1 movie in & B) The MCU hasn't been shy of recasting, The 2 major ones being Hulk & War Machine (minor ones being Fandral of the Thor films & Thanos early in the MCU)
