If America is canned than it's a real Christmas Miracle. Good God was that book bad.
Doomsday Clock appears to be skipping in March which....y'know sucks but hey at least it's a story I like & I got other titles to check out.

Well another year in Alot of comics to sort through on what was the best or worst this year. Unlike last time I'm not doing a full Worst of list mostly because I'm trying to be less strainous about comics so get the worst out of the way now:
5. Cyborg: Probably my least hated book of the year simply for how it's written. Cyborg's story wasn't bad in fact the ideas presented in the book are qute good. It's just the writing is stilted & overexplanitory that it makes what should be a great entry way for Cyborg becoming his own character just kinda boring & a slog to go through. Shame really.
4. Champions: Continuing off the "Everything that came out of Civil War II" train I protested about last year comes the book that has gradually gotten worse over time. I hate Champions I really do. I primarily hate it because Mark Waid's name is on the book & I expect better from him. I hate it simply because it takes the characters & turn them into a bunch of petty ass brats who have done nothing positive in there grander goal, I hate that people are so shallow in supporting this book simply because of it being a diversified line-up & nothing else. Book is just bad & needs to die soon so we can have Waid on better books.
3. Unstoppable Wasp: Hey remember how Avengers Arena was mean-spirited, Lacked respect for characters, & was just overall unpleasant? Want the same thing but entirely opposite of the first thing? Because that's ultimately what Unstoppable Wasp was. An unpleasantly boring title that had no respect or hope for a character from the hire ups.
2. Occupy Avengers: yep taking the Number 2 spot for the 2nd year in a row is the book that probably get's me the most angry in a long time. Where last time I hate the book simply for making Hawkeye non-chalant about murdering Now I hate it simply for making him a tool just so I can empathize with a Piece of Wood (Red Wolf), A Terrorist (DocNightshade), & a poor mans Oracle (Wheels). If there was ever a time I rooted for Hydra to kill our heroes Occupy is probably the only time I'll do that.
1. America: Jesus Christ why do people like this book? This shit is bad. Crap dialogue, Terrible Art, incredibly racist & overall just a complete ruination of a promising character & the biggest shitshow of a series I've seen since Ann Nocenti's Green Arrow run.
Ok now time for the best: Outside of number 1 this really is in no particular order.
10. New Super-man this book here continues to surprise me with how good it is proving Diversity can sell when not forced upon like so many others in recent years. I'm legitimately interesting in Kenan & his cast of characters & am so happy that the book is surviving thanks to tpb sells.
9. Captain America: God it's good to have Cap back. I generally did like Hydra-Cap stuff but the general outcry about it was starting to take years off me so it's nice to see Cap back in form & Mark Waid on a good book again.
8. Batman: Man when this book can't get any stranger or get me to legitimately care for the BatCat romance here you go. Seriously I'm generally loving this take on Batman & The War of Jokes & Riddles while long I found pretty engaging.
7: Jessica Jones/Defenders: Ah it's nice to have Bendis back in form for his last year at Marvel. While Defenders is mostly just movie synergy it is done in a way where there's a sense of passion for the characters rather than something phoned in like Avengers Assemble & I'm honestly just happy Jessica Jones is so good. Here's hoping Bendis brings this same flare when his era at DC hits.
6. Superman: While the book has certainly slowed down I still rank it high for stories like Black Dawn & Imperius Lex. Looking forward to how this Boyzarro story unfolds.
5. Aquaman: GOOD GOD THIS ART IS GORGEOUS. While Dan Abernett writing is still on point lot of props for this title being Stjepan Seijic first forray into mainstream comics. & good for him too his art is good.
4. All-New Guardians of the Galaxy: After Bendis's era just kinda fizzled out it's nice to see the ever awesome Gerry Duggan breath some new life into the team. It's definitely trying to recapture the tone of the movies but also give some respect to the other aspects of Marvel Cosmic. Bullshit it got canned/replaced for Infinity Countdown....Dafuk Marvel?
3. Green Arrow: See this Occupy Avengers? THIS is how you do a hero taking on an oppressive system right. Take friggin note. Green Arrow continues to knock it out the park especially with the Hare Travelling Hero storyline showing some fantastic growth for Ollie's character as well as continue re-establishing his overall role & relationships in the DCU.
2. Marvel Two-in-One: You know I forget Dan Slott can be a great writer when he's not be a loudmouth jackass about Spider-man. This probably-limited-series is off to a pretty strong start & I'd be all for Dan being F4's next writer once they finally bring them back....Hopefully. EDIT: Ok nevermind this was Chip Zdasky who wrote TiO still good though.
1. Doomsday Clock: We're only 2 issues into Doomsday Clock & I'm quite frankly in love. I generally do think Geoff Johns has captured the voice & style of Watchmen good enough & I'm incredibly grateful that DC is still very hush hush with future issues. That right there is good marketing. Sucks this won't be done by the end of the year since I want JSA soon but hey at least the story is engaging.
Runner-ups: Mister Miracle The Flash Green Lanterns The Mighty Thor Astonishing X-men Black Bolt Royals Wonder Woman Future Quest Showcase Invincible Iron Man Justice League of America Deathstroke Moon-Girl & Devil Dinosaur Nova Super-Sons Titans Teen Titans Moon Knight Nightwing Batgirl Action Comics Detective Comics

I am trying set up a list of DC new 52 comics that I may need to check out, someday. Any suggestions on which titles and issues I should read?
