Spider-Man: Venom War#2

Nice to have a book where 616 Peter and MJ actually ACT like 616 Peter and MJ, with their usual chemistry, all of MJ's venting saved just for the symbiote, Peter sorting out his feelings for her using Venom as a therapist...and Paul reduced to a petty worry-wart who all three major characters dunk on to varying degrees. Good cliff-hanger too, shows Jackpot will still need Spider-Man to save her....

Zdarsky seems to have completed his apology tour for Gotham War, with Bruce and Selina being deposited on the beach they spent time on in Tom King's run...they decide to have a honeymoon and take a breather before returning to the action, as they might not get another happy ending for a while.

Transformers 2nd Arc ends on a more bittersweet note. As The Decepticons begins to overpower the Autobots Carley comes in to save Cliffjumper while she was successful Cliff ends up through the Space Bridge back on Cybertron all the while the now distracted Decepticons loose their footing as Optimus & Elita bring Devastator down onto Shockwave's Harvester causing Cybertron to return to it's destination, As Shockwave retreats Optimus follows into the SB to save Cliff forcing the Combaticons to retreat while brutalizing Shockwave before experiencing another vision of baby Spike causing him to kill Shockwave (though I'm sure he'll return) Elita returns & shuts the Space bridge off trying to convince Optimus to stay while using the Energon harvested from Earth to re-energize their planet, But Optimus refuses as the cost was too high & decides to destroy the Energon much to Elita's dismay. A chain-reaction causes a small chuck of Cybertron to fall to Earths surface in the ocean, with Elita back on the planet sadden that Optimus "chose Earth over Home" & while Cliff's fate is currently unknown, Optimus is saved from burning up on reentry by Beachcomber but horrified at what he just did.

Going to be interesting seeing when GI Joe gets up to bat with this crazy but in the meantime we'll return to Starscream's dumbass next issue

Ultimate Spider-Man#9

Otto creates an override for Harry's suit so Tony can't access it, he attempts to equip Peter with an alternative Iron Spider outfit for Peter to use but he rejects it after conversing with the A.I of his own suit. After a battle ends with the Black Cat severely wounded at Harry's hands, Harry and Peter finally come to a major disagreement as Harry won't hesitate to kill and Peter refuses, saying they need to be better heroes.

Tom Taylor wrapped up his run on Titans. Not bad, your average Trigon vs Raven story with the same outcome as all the rest. Raven makes peace with her demon side again and merges with it after some pep talk from Garfield. I've enjoyed the run, if only because it gave me lots of great Raven and Beast Boy moments. Love that pairing.

I hate what they're doing with Green Arrow in Absolute Power. Sucks doubly so that Williamson is having to undo all his own hard work in putting Ollie in a good place because of his stupid gambit to topple Waller from the inside.
