It's emerging that ASM writer Zeb Wells' marriage is on the rocks and he and his wife separated in 2023. Guess we now know why ASM has been so miserable.

That is always terrible to hear.hopefully his personal life gets better. Though makes you wonder if it was his idea or editorial for this vol. Standing with Peter and mj after where Spencer was going with them.

After like a week delay Tranformers #5 is online.
After Starscream cannibalized Skywarp for parts, He resurrects Thundercracker, Reflector, & Frenzy to go & destroy the Autobots. While Optimus has a heart to heart with Sparkplug, Ratchet & Half-of-Wheeljack use a dam to resurrect Arcee, & Jazz just in time to fight The Cons. Reflector beefs it after Optimus uses Megatron fusion cannon on the goon & while the Decepticons destroyed the turbine the Autobots had enough replenished numbers to attempt to take back the Ark. However things go fubar as Starscream ambushes The Autobots with a freshly resurrected Constructicons & they merge into Devastator!

While not on my normal reading list, this weeks Blue Beetle was a loving tribute to Keith Giffen as Jaime & Booster zip around time to help Ted Kord. From the JLI days to Legion's 5YL era, to Jaime's original run before getting ambushed by....Ambush Bug, Heckler & Lobo at the request of JonniDC to get things straight regarding Jaime's origins (acknowledging the magic retcon from Rebirth) before going off to deal with Huntress. Fun time all around.

Transformers's first arc appears to have ended this week. The Autobots take on Devastator & Optimus is severely wounded as The Group lock themselves in the Ark. It appears Optimus is done for as he tries to Pass on The Matrix but Sparkplug choses to sacrifice himself by re-energizing it & restoring Optimus to full power (Given this is taking notes from the Cartoon it's likely he's in there as a force Ghost like all the Primes before Optimus), & goes on to take out Devastator. Meanwhile Cliffjumper & Carly take on Starscream resulting in Devastator dropping on top of Stsrscream forcing the Con's to retreat, Optinus attempts to make peace with Soundwave but he refuses. The Autobots have control of the Ark again & Spike awakens from his Coma asking for his dad...

In Amazing Spider-Man, Peter meets up with Jackpot outside of Ravencroft...Pete and MJ then undress around one another and switch to their civves to visit Aunt Anna. Peter cures Anna of her Orchis mind virus, Anna blames MJ for her and Peter's recent break up (she's not wrong), Peter meets Sandman who's recovering from a split personality. Sandman warns Peter the Sinister Six will come for hi,. Peter goes back to Oscorp and is set to quit but Norman manages to convince him not to. Oscorp is in possession of The Living Brain and Curt Connors is working on it

More on how Peter and MJ interact in Amazing this week
They fight crime and tend to Aunt Anna. No appearance or mention of Paul (he's in the MJ/BC mini though), Peter and MJ discuss life on a rooftop and Peter says it wasn't easy to move on from her. MJ reveals it took her a long time to do the same. Lots of sexual tension between them. At Aunt Anna's house they compliment their teamwork together, Peter says there's good reason to do it again, but MJ reckons the way they are right now, it probably isn't a good idea, indicating they're still in love

Transformers this week see's a cooldown period. As the Decepticons lick their wounds Soundwave berates Starscream's leadership while challenging him for the title....Then proceeds to beat the shit out of him before tearing out some inner machinery (we all know the idiots not dead) & is proclaimed the New Leader by the Cons. Things are fairing a bit better for the Autobots though, Except Carley is now more bitter over Cliffjumper's hesitation against Starscream & is obsessed with revenge against him, Not even kinds words from Arcee who was in a similar situation before being saved by Ultra Magnus years ago help, Wheeljack still hasn't been able to reactivate the other Autobots due to Skywarp being hotwired to Teleetran 1's systems & has to do it manually, While Optimus tries to comfort Spike before returning having brief flashes of holding Spike as a baby (implying some of Sparkplug is now part of Optimus) & getting the Autobots ready to hunt the Decepticons.
Meanwhile on Cybertron Elita-1 leads a small Autobot team that gets slaughtered (Huffer, Warpath & Kup dies) before finding a harvested Transformer body implying to be Ultra Magnus, While the Military finally gets word on the Transformers antics & zeros in on Washington.
