I have to ask something about this whole "whose side are you on?" nonsense. Like what was even the whole point of having this whole "Team ____ vs. Team ____" bullshit, if you are not even gonna give the two teams an actual reason or a proper motivation to be at war with each other?! I mean, Captain America: Civil War had a better reason why the Avengers were broken up and it was all because they were taking advantage of their positions in powers to the point where they didn't pay attention to their surroundings and their little endeavors would get a lot of people involved and would cause so much collateral damage. Hell, one kid didn't make out of Sakovia alive, and he was a bystander in Civil War, which was the driving point for Tony Stark to be on the side of approving the Sakovia Accords. And, the worst part was that he and Bruce Banner created Ultron. So yeah, Stark had to take responsibility for his actions. Captain America was just being a stubborn jack-ass.
We don't get that here. All we get is people showing favoritism towards the damn phantom thieves and the police sentai don't even get enough arsenals in their own dispkay. Hell, they don't even get their own person mechs, Splash and Siren Striker until the final arc. And that's just sad. I mean, what I am trying to say is this....If you're gonna include the word "VS" into the title of your movie or TV show, you need to give the two teams a proper motivation or an actual reason why they need to be at war with each other. Not showing favoritism towards one team over the other by giving them more stuff and have the latest hero join the other team more often than the first one.
The key word is "motivation!!"

Well that awful sentai is over and it can rot in hell where it deserves and the rest of us can rest easy knowing it will never see the light of day in the United States This coming from the guy who claimed all season that the Lupin's were some of the worst people around and deserved to be in jail for life for stealing from the gangler, and reckless endangerment to those around them. Cuz no sentai has ever caused damage to their surroundings in battle...

^Preach it, Sh & sixth! Like I'd previously said about other fictional criminals. They did a great deal of good using their skills. Including save lives, fight for justice, and give people hope. The Patrangers came to see the Lupinrangers as friends due to spending so much time with them in civilian form and realizing why they were stealing from the Ganglers. Would not be surprised if Green & Yellow actually began dating and got married!

Well that awful sentai is over and it can rot in hell where it deserves and the rest of us can rest easy knowing it will never see the light of day in the United States. ...Dude, you do know it's a kid's show, right? Also, plenty of people liked it. I did too, and it'd be cool to see it become a Power Rangers series. You're the only person I've seen aggressively hate this show. Which... again, it's a kid's show, so there's no reason to be that aggressive about it.

I honestly can't wait to adapt this series for fan fiction. I'm even naming Patren #1 & #3 after my cop cousin & his judge wife.

Was that is a bit harsh there. And how do you even know it won't get adapted. There is honestly no reason it can't or won't be done. Plus just cause you may not have liked the sentai. Who's to say the us adaptation could turn out better.

I watched episode 50 and 51 and En Film.
Interesting how the final villains were Zamigo for the Lupinrangers followed by Dogranio for the Patrangers. It made sense with the Lupinrangers being motivated by their personal reasons and the Patrangers being motivated by their responsibility to protect the city.
Of course Dogranio wouldn't unlock his chains just cause they demanded him, he had no incentive. The phantom thieves were his only bargaining chip. How ironic that he was the one chained up for a year until Jacky and the replacement phantom thieves broke them out. Another irony was that the cops never cared about opening safes, except when lives were at stake, they refused to destroy Dogranio without securing the contents of his safe. It's like Keiichirou once said, they save everybody. Human and non-human. Innocent and guilty.
The safe locking mechanic of the Trigger Machines is extremely appropriate. Cops are always locking up criminals and weapons. If only it was shown earlier in the season, it wouldn't have felt like a minor deus ex machina.
Despite saving their loved ones and escaping from the safe, the Lupinrangers are still on the loose as they pursue the remaining Lupin Collection. Noel's loved one is still dead after all. The truce between the phantom thieves and cops is over as they resume their fight although with a better understanding and respect for each other. There may even be hope for Sakuya/Umika in the future.
Somehow, the hand-off between Lupin/Patren and Ryusoulger occurs immediately after the end credits in the same place where Lupin Red and Patren 1 were fighting. This doesn't make sense. A year has passed since Dogranio's arrest which makes it February 2020. Ryusoulger should be over by then! Unless Ryusoul Red traveled through time by some means like the Gokaigers once did, that would make the scene a little less inexplicable.
Overall, this Sentai series easily makes my top 10. Not sure where specifically, but it's there. Despite the heavy filler, especially in the first and second quarter, it quickly gained momentum. The action was revolutionary and the characters had a great dynamic. Kairi and Keiichirou were very complex and likable characters. The apologetic phantom thief and the unyielding cop. I would love to see how Hasbro would handle an adaption of this show and I think it could work.

^Not like Judge Judy, Combusto. But if you recall the D.C. Sniper Attacks back in 2002, my cousin was the first cop on the scene of one of the incidents. The Home Depot one.

Well, another year, another Sentai is gone. Good bye, LupinRangers and PatRangers, you'll surely be missed. I had marathon'ed the last four episodes, so I had some of my ideas scrambled, but I can make some thoughts about this series. PROS: - Characters: the best in a while, specially Kairi and Keiichiro. Kairi is pretty good, a great Red, balanced, not a screaming idiot, and he care for his family and friends/team. Of course, he is the king of the cool of the series, but Keiichiro is the heart of the show. The conflict in him, about helping the Lupins, vs. his duty as a cop, made the character more relatable. He is also cool, and he also cares for his friends/team. Tooma, Umika, Sakuya, Tsukasa, Noel....what a great chemistry. Probably the best since Shinkenger. The drama between the characters made the series. Finally, Toei made characters who looks more like human beings, and not just bumbling stereotypes. - Plot: well, the Lupin Collection's search, and the conflict between the Rangers' team made the series. It was a nice change of pace, not just be "the villian want to destroy the Earth, let's save blah blah blah". Probably, it wasn't exploited to the fullest, but I liked it a lot. - Zamigo: I was expecting a good villian with human form for a while, and Zamigo deliver it. His obsession with Kairi/LupinRed was not that original, but it was more than "I want to fight the Red because he was the strongest". The fact he was the culprit of the abduction of the Lupins loved ones, was pretty good. Probably his puns about ice, were getting on my nerves faster, than the puns about light from Zed in TQGer. Toei, stop with the puns. I know he is ice-related villian, but, no. Just, cut it out. - Action: IMHO, the best fighting sequences in suits and mechas, since Go-Busters. The fight scenes are, just perfect. The camera movements, the acrobatics, the use of slow motion and fast moves....excellent. i hope Hasbro adapt this series, the action for itself deserve it.
CONS: - Villians: except for Zamigo, the villians are boring. Oh, is Dogranio, look Toei, another villian who seated on his ass until the finale. I like he was defeated by the PatRangers, and just imprisoned, but come on. His whole motivation "I'm looking for a succesor" was wasted. The rest of his generals...I don't even remember their names. They are that forgettable. Toei, come on. Some effort here. An interdimensional mafia should be fun. - Noel: don't hate me. He was severely missused. Sure, he "made" the powers and mechas, and had the backstory with Arsenè Lupin, but he was deflating with the time. Prior to the finale, I forget he was there. A character who play in both sides of the law, like a thief and a cop, should be more interesting. A better moral conflict, an insight, something. I don't expect the Departed, but some conflict with both sides. It was pretty meh for me. He wasn't bad, but I can't put him in a top ten. Except top ten of most dissapointing approach of a character. - Secondary characters: well, there is not that much to talk about. Hilltop and Jim Carter are....there. They exist. Just like Kogure. He was useful sometimes. But he was just, meh. Just that. On top of that, the loved ones were more important, not only a motivation for the LupinRangers, and they actually helped the Rangers at the end. - Favoritism: of course, the big elephant in the room. The LupinRangers are the cool ones, had the motivations for stole the Lupin Collection, and they had most of the power-ups and mecha. I like debates about morality and ethics, but most of the time, you can help it, you have to side with the Lupins. And sadly that leaves the PatRangers in the loser side most of the time. That makes me feel sometimes like sad for the Pats. Some balance could help, but there is no use. Toei had to make the idea of a group of thieves who also are superheroes. They have to sell that, besides toys. - the Zamigo/Lupin Collection: it's the big plot hole of the series. Sure, Zamigo "killed" the LupinRangers' loved ones, which lead to them to becoming thieves. Sure, the Lupin collection gave superpowers, which, at the beginning, I thought this gonna be like Dragon Ball, the Lupin Collection could granted a wish, like resurrect people. But no. Then, they introduced Zamigo, which was the responsable of the abduction of the people the Lupins care for. And I thought, this gonna be about revenge. But, then they introduce the fact they could destroy Zamigo, and the loved ones could came back. So, the point of the Lupin Collection, and to gather all, was pointless. Instead of collecting all the objects, they should focus on fight Zamigo. And They stretched the rivalry between him and Red, waaaaaaaaaay too far. Overall, it was a pretty good series. It wasn't flawless, sure. But I liked the fact Toei took a risk. It's sad that probably it didn't pay off, and now, we gonna have Kyouryuger Redux. It's a shame.
