Even though I have supported this ship since the start, you guys have my pity. I remember feeling the same way after Kyoryuger's finale destroyed both of my ships simultaneously. At least there's no poorly executed love triangle this time though, am I right?

It's more that I hate Toei giving boys the message that if a girl isn't interested in you, just keep trying and eventually she'll fall for you! Although, yes, at least there's no love triangle

Umika seems to have one of those psychological conditions of losing someone they care about over & over. Or worried she may forget about who she's fighting for. Maybe she's afraid she'll forget all about her friend by falling in love.

^ It's nothing to do with that. She was never afraid of losing Sakuya or forgetting her friend, she just didn't like Sakuya that way. But now, of course, she has to fall for him so we can have a "cute love story!" thus giving the message that no doesn't really mean no. If anything, Kairi's behaviour with Keiichiro is closer to what you're describing ...
