Well for me. I was not a huge fan of seeing one hero take on another hero on the big-screen. But I think maybe it is because DC was still trying to compete against Marvel Studios for some time, now. Of course, I might be wrong. Now, I am a bit surprised that no one else has ever talked about other versus movie crossovers such as Godzilla vs. King Kong (1969), I think. Or Freedy vs. Jason or even Alien vs. Predator 1 & 2. Yet it's only the super hero movies that get all the attention when it comes to movie crossovers.
Hell, even the iconic movie monsters such as Dracula, the Frankenstein monster, the Wolfman, and the Mummy have already done big-budgeted movie crossovers and expanded universes way before there was even a Marvel Cinematic Universe. But yet, people have forgotten that it already happened before. Isn't that weird or what?!

I can understand with X-Men: The Last Stand some what Jean lost control, After the phoenix embodied her.

Yeaaah of all of DC’s failings. Batman and Superman duking it out was not one of the reasons

I can understand with X-Men: The Last Stand some what Jean lost control, After the phoenix embodied her. Yeah, about that movie....it wasn't even about Jean Grey suddenly losing control once the "Dark Phoenix" kicked in. It was just a filler plot that was getting in the way of the main plot of the movie, which was the social commentary of the whole "mutants battling for or against the cure". If you take out the filler plot of the whole "Dark Phoenix Saga" from the movie, you would still have the whole battle for the cure plot going on resulting in the X-Men's final victory over Magneto. All I am trying to say is that they should have saved the "Dark Phoenix Saga" plot in a totally different movie on its' own, but make it like what Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows film adaptations did to the final book installment. Split it into two movies. One dealing with Jean Grey becoming the regular Phoenix and suddenly getting used to her new abilities, then leading into part two where she goes mad after she was manipulated into joining the Hellfire Club and then lead into her demise, but have Cyclops be the one to kill her, instead of Wolverine. That could work. Anyways, I am a little off track. I have to agree with Venusaur on this one. Batman fighting Superman for hypocritical reasons is not one of the reasons why the DCEU was a visual failure. The whole "competing against Marvel Studios because they are getting better at making superhero movies" idea was definitely one of those other reasons. But the MCU is also having problems of its' own because if you look back at all of the phase one and phase two MCU movies, the real reason why the Avengers were at war with each other and why we've been seeing Captain America and the Winter Soldier take on Iron Man at the end of Civil War is because there aren't that many memorable movie villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The majority of them are either killed off too quickly, before we even got a chance to know who any of them are on the big-screen, or just so forgettable, you probably don't even remember anything about them or their motives once you have seen the movies. So far, we have a total of nine memorable movie villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe... -Loki -Thanos -Ultron -The Winter Soldier -Hydra/S.H.I.E.L.D. -The Red Skull (Hugo Weaving) -General Zemo -Hela (Cate Blanchett) -The Abomination (Tim Roth) from the 2008 Incredible Hulk movie reboot. That's it.
