The Parker Luck at it's most unfortunate.
...I'm definitely not seeing the movie. Sick of Peter being portrayed as a loser, and this would NEVER happen between him and MJ. The very reason we got One More Day was because Quesada didn't want to promote something like this to kids with the character. Poor form Sony.

I still don't see you getting so hung up on this. Again this take has a reason and drive for the story for miles. And I bet in the end this Peter life will change for the better.

I still don't see you getting so hung up on this. Again this take has a reason and drive for the story for miles. And I bet in the end this Peter life will change for the better. i've just had enough of Peter and MJ being depicted as people who give up on one another when the going gets rough. They would'nt do that. I dealt with this B.S for ten years, it contributed to my mental deterioration in 2010, and now a whole generation are going to watch this film and grow up thinking these two are not meant to be and are destined to constantly fall apart when MJ, under the best of writers, got on the map as one of the strongest female characters and life partners in all of comics. Renew Your Vows, the Newspaper strip and Nick Spencer have been steadily repairing the damage inflicted on her by OMD/OMIT and Dan Slott, and Sony come swooping in thinking this depiction is the way to go? You could have had this Peter grieve MJ's death, or have him never get over Gwen's death, ANYTHING would have sufficed, but to give up on his love for MJ is the last straw for me. I will not support this movie no matter how acclaimed it is.

Hey I never liked the crap they did with my either. And glad finally in comics they are back together. After all the bs stuff. But still I wouldn't not see this animated film cause the older Peter isn't with mj. As we don't have his full story. And like I said after the adventure maybe he will turn his life around.

I wound up reading spoilers and I feel a bit better now. Likely still not seeing it, as the reason for the split is still dumb, but I don't wish failure for this movie anymore.

so just got home a few minutes ago from the film. Was a pretty good time. I thought the style worked great with the film and the differences for each spider was fun and made for some cool looks for all. The plot was a simple story. Miles, older peter, gwen did get the most focus points. So some of the others and the villains did get short changed a bit. But each spider had some nice moments. Miles story played out well and i liked how he work with the others. The fights where pretty good too. I really liked stan cameo in the film too. Plus the tribute at the end. The end credit scene was cool too.

hmmm if they are talking about doing actual animated tv shows sony doesnt have the rights to do that. As they only have the rights to make and distribution live action/animated films. As they gave up the tv rights along with the merch rights to marvel. So i dont know where that NYT writer got that information. But in other news i heard the film won a golden globe award,

Well there are rumors Marvel shut down and cancelled their animated shows recently, perhaps they're thinking of leashing out tv rights?
