I been checking out several non-spoiler reviews on the new Justice League movie and so far, it's not the worst, but not as good as Wonder Woman or Man of Steel is what nearly everyone is saying about it. So I am wondering why keep expecting the next superhero movie to be as "Perfect as the Avengers", when it shouldn't. I mean, yeah, not every movie about superheroes and comic books isn't going to be good or whatever, but can't they at least be interesting or fun to watch, regardless? I mean, ever since Marvel's "The Avengers" came out in 2012, it's like people are like expecting these type of movies to be either good or bad because "oh, no! The studios are ruining my favorite comic book character!" Or whatever. But, I just want to know if the movie is going to be good or not. That's all I care about. And how come no one has ever talked about other lesser-known comic book or superhero movies that got released straight to Blu-ray and DVD only?! Where is the out-cry on that?! Why do we need to be focusing on all these bigger-budgeted blockbuster movie adaptations instead of those that have gotten half the budget for a DVD or a blu-ray release?! And that's kind of the problem here...
It's the more popular and well-known characters that Hollywood likes to make movies off of and can rake in the big bucks. And they expect us to watch these movies because they are not all animated and it's set in live-action. And honestly, that mentality has to end, in my opinion. I don't care if the comic book movie is presented in animation or presented in live-action, I just want it to be good to watch. But again, people will keep coming in with so many expectations to the point where no one would seem to care. And that's just really sad.
So, all I can say is this...if you're expecting this one particular movie about superheroes or comic books to be great or whatever, then you are not going to get that if you came in with so many high expectations. You should either wait for the movie to be available to watch at home or don't bother watching it at all. But as long as you can decide for yourself, and not what the critics think, then that is okay.
So, what do you guys think? Are we expecting superhero or comic book movies to be perfect, or not?
