Now that the movie is out on Blu-ray and DVD, what do you guys think about this particular team-up?

Personally I felt Episode 0 was the better of the two films. Which honestly shocks me since the trailers made it look like it was gonna be a Koichi Sakamoto fetish fuelfest, and yet it had a entertaining story, some cool action, and had a decent B-horror vibe to it. Sure the usual high kicks and thigh shots were there, but it felt more restrain here compared to other Sakamoto work and he actually gave each character a distinct fighting style.
Gavan vs. Dekaranger, in comparison, felt a little fragmented as it's clearly trying to leave the door open for future sequels in this format when we have no idea if more movies are coming. Also it had this annoying issue of trying to imply Geki was Ban 2.0 or at least a modern day version of Ban, when they completely missed the point of his character (Ban was more overly passionate and would get too emotionally invested to a case, but he wasn't a hot-headed reckless idiot. It seems Arakawa confused Ban's character with the more modern Reds we have now. You can see the elements of those characters in Ban but he wasn't exactly liked them).

I also preferred Episode Zero, it had a lot of cool action scenes, references to the series, Uchuu Keiji and Deka heroine team, comedic moments and Birdie reminded me of Horror Girl from Next Generation except Birdie is a real bird woman seijin. I appreciated the violence, it's not like anything you would expect to see in the series. It was great prelude to the events that occur in the Space Squad crossover.
Gavan vs Dekaranger was still a pretty good movie, a teamup between space police Geki and Ban and the Earth Branch Dekarangers. The Akibaranger reference was unexpected and awesome since Deka Red is Akiba Red's favorite red ranger. I wasn't sure about Retsu just giving Geki his sword but I guess Geki needed it at the time. Retsu makes a lot of questionable decisions recently like in Super Hero War Z when he fired a planet destroying lazer at Earth.... Maybe this is Retsu's way of repenting. The fight against giant Satan Gorth at the end was anticlimactic, Deka Red just casually destroyed him with a remote control Deka Wing. I was expecting something more exciting.
Overall, Space Squad was awesome with a few forgivable flaws and there was actually a lot of effort in this like the Kyuranger crossover and sequel teaser ending with more Metal Heroes and Sentai. A nice consolation for lack of Sentai in Superhero Year. It was good how they used the Dekaranger 10 Years After extended universe to set up future crossovers. Like Chou Den-O.

But, let's hope that unlike the Chou Den-O film series, we would have some really good Space Squad movie spin-offs.

I thought the Chou Den-O series was generally good. Except for Episode Red of the trilogy, that sucked.

I actually thought that episode yellow sucked. But, I could be wrong because it's been seven years since I have rewatched the Chou Den-O movie trilogy.
