Hey is this week episode season finale or the following week. Just confused as there is 8 episode then winter special right. And Disney plus listed last winter special as episode 1 of the season.

This week is part one of the finale, then then second part airs next week Also, there is a special series 1 recap episode airing in the UK next Thursday. A good episode this week. Was fun seeing mel back and helping the doctor. Same with Donna daughter rose working at unit. I always enjoy also when Kate and unit are working with the doctor. I liked the plot of the doctor thinking Susan might have been his grand daughter. It would be nice if that character does return some day. As for the villain man is it creepy. And can't wait to see next episode.

Just got done with watching the finale. A pretty good finale. Poor it was so sad to see the universe and Mel and Kate get killed. And was nice seeing that the god been with the tardis all this time and that how he got power. I enjoyed how they brought the universe back and everyone too. And interesting reveal that Ruby mom was a nobody. And that she and her mom got to connect. And the end with that old lady I still curious what to come with her.

Thought it was bollocks personally. I'm used to RTD finales have daft resolutions so how it all happened didn't bother me, it's just..
Ruby's parents being ordinary is right out of the Last Jedi handbook. As for the reveal that her actual dad is bad news, it strikes me as odd she'd want to even try to know him if he treated her mother badly, it's also odd the last shot wasn't Ruby knocking on the door of his house or something, I'd have probably made it snow and kept a close up shot of Ruby as we hear the door opened. We know she'll be back next series so maybe keep something about her mystery going. Just me indulging in my creativity a bit there.
Surely Vlinx could have been brought back from the dead quicker to help out because he's a machine and not flesh and blood? Nice of the reset button to reattach his head too after we clearly saw it fall off.
Kate sure developed an attraction to that UNIT soldier real fast.
Mrs. Flood looked a little like Romana I in her Ribos Operation snowcoat, or East 17, whichever decade you prefer.

I think the idea of the TARDIS landing wherever The Doctor needed help was always a B.S thing from the Moffat era, now they've left us with the implication that ever since the 70s, it's been more or potentially influenced/decided upon by a God is much better for the show, and retroactively helps assert a sense of second sight and forboding, that rewards fans of NuWho whenever they watch an old serial post-Pyramids. I also like to headcanon Idris from The Doctor's Wife may have now been a constructed consciousness conjured forth by Suktekch to give The Doctor exactly what he wanted to hear.
For anyone who didn't watch Doctor Who Unleashed or were unable to access it, there were previews of Ruby returning in series two and some info on the Christmas special.
