"All inspired by the TMB." Mateo nervously admitted. "Our goal is to maintain time as it's supposed to be but sometimes, things slip through the cracks. Oh, which reminds me..." Mateo flashed the Energem, showing off its sparkle. "This thing not only allows you to become a Power Ranger, it keeps you from aging. To prevent from having to cycle through so many agents when they age out, we were able to study an immortal scientist who now works for the TMB. He helped us create these Energems that stop the aging process. So to be super extra clear, you can literally be at this for 1,000 years and never age a day. The only catch is that it doesn't provide the same protections an immortal does, so while you won't age, you can still kick the bucket."

"That's a tricky question. You see.." Mateo paused, trying to explain it in a way that makes sense for him as well as the others. "Maintaining in-person contact with our families is damn near impossible. One, because we can't age, it's going to cause too many questions as to why years have passed and you look exactly the same age while your family and friends have aged." He responded, trying to give the simplest version possible. "As for interfering with time, all events are categorized into three categories. There's the Clearance phase. That means if you change a Clearance event, there's little to no change in the timeline and you're good to go. Recruiting you guys would fall into that category. Then there's the Anomaly phase. Those are events we shouldn't touch because they have the potential to change time. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. We can't change those unless we get approval from leadership with the proper authorization. Then there are Pivot Points, those we are not to change under ANY circumstance. Altering one of those events can potentially wreck all of time, causing it to collapse on its head."

Ledger sighed. "So my sisters...they get to live their lives and get rich, famous, powerful. But me....I'm insignificant? I'm "nothing" to the timeline? Well ain't that a kick in the nads."
Samara looked down, biting her lip softly. "That ain't fair. There oughta be somethin' important in my life," she said. "But I guess not. Ain't gonna be "Legends of the Bargirl" in the stories, I guess."

"I'm so sorry." Mateo sighed. He knew it was only a matter of time before someone reacted less than positively. "I get it. I was just like you two years ago."
"You were actually worse. There was plenty of kicking and screaming. Oh and then..."
"Not now, Sensei!" Mateo spoke sharply before settling back in to address his team. "I know this sucks but I'd rather you know this now versus selling you on some happy adventure and then dropping the bomb months later. I've seen Ranger teams nearly crippled because shit was withheld for months. But that leads to the last part. We're at the point of no return." Mateo pulled out a small cell and held it up for everyone to see. "This is called the Mind Wipe Charger. If this is too much for you, now's the time to tell me. If you want out, I use this to wipe your memories of the last few hours, take you back and leave you where I found you, no hard feelings. BUT, if you stay, you bond with an energem, you become TMB, you become a Power Ranger and you begin to craft your own legacy, your own destiny but Imma be clear, if you say yes and let that Energem bond, the only way to separate from it... is death."

Lalah thought about it. While it would be nice to work with that bureau, it would cost her no contact with her family and friends forever. She had worked so far to accomplish her goals, only to start over if she chose that. “A man drives a hard bargain.” Lalah began in consideration. “If I want to cut my own path further beyond, then I will do what I must do." And with a bated breath, the freelance artist made her decision. "Sure, I am in. While I am going to miss my family and friends, the only thing that matters is for them to be alive and well. As for my profession, I'm sure I can do it in my spare time. Perhaps, I'll leave finished canvases here for you and Sensei to see when needed."

"Ledge? Sam?" Mateo asked, looking to get their attention.

Ledger sighed softly. "Finding out that out of four kids, you're the only one that doesn't have an impact is a kick in the nuts," he said. "Famous gamer sister, basketball superstar, State Senate....Mom always says "Oh, you've got big things in your future" and turns out she's wrong." He folded his arms, looking at the others. "Yeah, ok. I'll play along. Maybe I can find something to make my life mean something."
Samara sat down, running her hand over her face. She twisted her fingers in her skirt, biting her lip. She looked at Mateo and nodded. "Alright. Might as well be part of a posse that ain't aimin' to gun someone down for a change," she said. "If y'all want, I'm a pretty good cook. AIn't had many complaints."

"Yes! You guys won't regret it!" Mateo jumped up in celebration, happy that everyone said yes. "Now to fly to the TMB and show you guys where we..."
"Ahem." Sensei cleared her digital throat.
"What? Pretty sure that's the right protocol." Mateo raised an eyebrow, wondering why he was being interrupted.
"You are but I'm getting data from HQ. The disruption of the Pivot Point is more severe than anticipated. HQ has modified the order and authorized delayed orientation."
"Meaning we're getting our hands dirty now. Okay guys, follow me. We're heading to the vault!" Mateo ran out of the Bridge, heading towards the vault on the lower level of the ship.

Samara raised an eyebrow, following behind Mateo with Ledger.
"He's kinda chaotic and I love it," Ledger said with a grin.
"I've known men less scatterheaded," Samara said with a small smile, Ledger laughing.
