"I could tell stories," Samara said with a small smile. "Be a lot of drunk cowboys gettin' into fights over the girls in the saloons, or cattle drives and the way those boys would try and take over towns on the way, but I'm sure I'd find somethin' entertainin' to talk about."
"I will take it. It is better other than listening to people with shellshock from the World War, making music wildly, and the unfortunate discrimination against one another." Lalah replied. "It isn't pleasant but the mundane moments makes up for the bleak reality."

The quartet continued to move, eventually making their way to the dojo where Leon was supposed to be. Much to their surprise, when they walked through the entrance, Leon was nowhere to be found.
"Weird. Sensei, you sure you got the coordinates right?" Mateo spoke into his com.
"Bitch, how dare you! I always get it right!" Sensei responded with some sass, only partially offended that Mateo thought her intel was tissue soft. "There's no change in the time stream, he's still in there somewhere."
"Oh yeah?" Mateo looked around, staying on guard. "Leon! Wherever you are, come out! We mean you no harm! We just wanna talk!"

Before Mateo could move or blink, Leon emerged swiftly from the shadows with a sharp bladed sword against his throat. "3 things. Who sent you, who are you, and what do you want with me?" Leon said a cold tone of voice. Leon didn't wanna take chances as the last people who were sent after him came from his own family and other competitors trying to wipe him out.

Before Mateo could move or blink, Leon emerged swiftly from the shadows with a sharp bladed sword against his throat. "3 things. Who sent you, who are you, and what do you want with me?" Leon said a cold tone of voice. Leon didn't wanna take chances as the last people who were sent after him came from his own family and other competitors trying to wipe him out.
"Here's a tip. Stick to swordmanship because your stealth is mid." Mateo said, unafraid of the blade at his throat. He hit Leon's hand, creating just enough distance to slip away from the sword and in one smooth motion, he got behind Leon, putting him on the ground with a lightning quick snap German suplex. He drew his Chrono Morpher for the first time during this recruiting trip, which also served as his blaster, pointing it at Leon's face as he lay on the ground.
"Now let's try this again." Mateo heard the others behind him, so he was relatively sure Leon wouldn't try anything stupid again. "We're not here to kill you. We're here to recruit you. If I wanted you dead, I'd just go pay your folks a visit and make sure your dad pisses off your mom on that special night. Quick, clean, and doesn't hurt anyone." Mateo said, all with a smile on his face.

Leon started laughing as he sheathed his sword before a kip up back to his feet. "Your the first person to take me off my feet in a long time. Impressive." Leon said he looked at Mateo. "Go back in time huh? You rich or something? Sure we have it here but only the elite have been able to use it to their advantage to get richer. And as far as my dad pissing my mom off, you'd come out better euthanizing him. How'd you think he got her in bed in the first place?" Leon stated.

Mateo made no mention of being able to take Leon down so quickly. With his training in styles across time and space, it wasn't super difficult but he wasnt the bragging type. "Oh Leon. You really don't know what you don't know." Mateo shook his head. "All of those folks who use time travel to get rich? Don't worry, that'll get settled when their numbers are called." He shook his head.
"The other three were much more pleasant." Sensei spoke from the Chrono Com in Mateo's pocket. Mateo dug out the communication device to respond.
"Yeah maybe but he'll fall in line once he gets his head straight."

Samara sighed, shaking her head. She watched as Leon got to his feet, walking up beside Mateo. "Son, you'd do best just to say "Yes" and come with us. Easiest thing to do. Trust me," she said.
Ledger grinned as he watched the "fight", seeing Mateo standing over Leon. "Dude, that was wicked." He looked down at Leon, waving. "S'up, bro. I'm Ledger. And trust me, it's probably smart to stop talking and just come with Mateo and us. Less chance of you being on your ass again."

"As silly as it is, I'm very impressed." Lalah said with a huffed smile. Then she glanced at Mateo with his Chrono Morpher. "That is a nice weapon. So this is how we are going to do from now on. Splendid."

"Reserved and cautious is hiding out, maybe talking over an intercom. There's is nothing reserved about pulling a blade out on someone you don't know." Mateo laughed. "But it's fine. It's not the first time I've had a blade to my throat and it won't be the last." He was about to answer the follow up question but then he heard Lalah and squirreled a bit.
"Thanks! This beauty is the Chrono Morpher. It does a lot of sweet shit that yall will hopefully see really soon."
"Mateo...focus!" Sensei's voice rang through the com.
"Oh sorry!" Mateo shook his head. "Now where was I? Oh yeah. That thing? Just maintaining order and saving time and space."

"So, you some sort of time cops? Sounds like some Doctor Who mixed with Judge Dredd type stuff." Leon said as he looked at the group. "Alright. I'm in. I think its high time I used a sword for other than competition. Need a real test." Leon said as he extended his hand for Mateo.

Ledger raised an eyebrow. "Doctor Who's still on the air this far into the future? Hell yeah. Must be on like....the 34th Doctor," he said with a grin. "Gotta see that!"
"What is a "Doctor Who"? It sounds odd," Samara said, looking at Ledger. "Jsut like you, boy."

"Sweet." Mateo shook Leon's hand, happy to see that he was on board. When he heard the others talking about the likes of Judge Dredd and Doctor Who, he smirked. "Don't worry, you guys will see all of it soon enough... hopefully."
The group of five made their way back to The Patricia. Mateo repeated everything he said to Ledger when he boarded the ship and the ship took off, retreating to the Time Stream. However, unlike the previous three conversation, Mateo looped in everyone for the new material. He paused for a moment, knowing some of what he had to say may not be the most pleasant to hear.
"Thanks for coming. This is the tricky part and the first time I've had to deliver this news to someone I wasn't training with so bare with me. The reasons I gave as to why I sought yall out are true. What y'all don't know is why y'all... exactly. The truth is that yes, you are unique. Like myself, your unique in the sense that you're a nobody, just like me." Mateo was reading the room and wanted to add context. "When I say we're nobodies, me nor my superiors at the TMB who coined that term think that way of us personally but in our world, Nobody is used to describe someone who has little to no effect on the timeline." He brought up a visual of their timelines on the holo screen at the center panel.
"Sure, some of us live to be older than others. We may even be happy in some cases but us being pulled from our respective places in the timeline carries zero impact, not on our families, friends, or futures because none of us have a legacy to go back to, no matter what we're aspiring to achieve." He said, all but confirming that whatever their dream is, it's going to fail.
"With that said, you can create a new legacy here." He switched the screen to visuals of multi colored heroes, fighting all throughout time. "The people you see fighting here are Power Rangers, humans that are granted extraordinary powers to defend against evil. Sometimes that evil can be a mad scientist, a disgruntled wizard, immortals, aliens, demons, you name it and one of these teams have come across them. Our job is to use our powers granted to us by these to protect the timeline from those that threaten to harm or change it for their evil purposes." Mateo held up his Chrono Morpher and Red Energem, both serve as his most vital tools. "Before I get into the next part, y'all wanna ask anything?"
