Unfortunately, this is where that miscommunication would come into play. Mateo and Lalah correctly went in from other directions to flush Boomteria out. Ledger appeared to follow suit but Samara followed the Blue Ranger instead of coming in from an opposite angle, so when she fired, Boomteria saw Ledger closing in and instead of trying to move even further, he allowed Ledger to get close and gave him a slight tug which was just enough to pull the Blue Ranger into Samara's line of fire after she pulled the trigger.

Ledger yelled as he got hit with Samara's shot. The Blue Ranger hit the ground, wincing as he convulsed.
Samara's eyes widened, and she stopped, her Chopper falling out of her hand. "Ledger," she said, running over to the Blue Ranger. "Ledger, I'm sorry, son--"
"Fuck off!" Ledger yelled, pulling away from Samara and struggling to his knees. "Go away, Sam!"
The Black Ranger felt her heart sink, knowing everything was her fault. "Ledger...."

Mateo didn't see all of what happened but he did see that Ledger was in rough shape and for whatever reason, Samara was not number one on his Christmas card list. Knowing that their window was short, the Red Ranger made a judgment call and hoped that it didn't bite them in the ass.
"Sensei, get us out of here!"
"On it!" In an instant, the Rangers teleported away, making their way back to the ship. Mateo helped Ledger to the treatment room, getting him into the med chair where the technology could do its work on repairing him and getting him back to full health. Once the Blue Ranger was situated, Mateo looked at Samara out of concern.
"What happened? We were fighting Boomteria and then I hear Ledger screaming out and him not wanting you anywhere near him." The Red Ranger took his helmet off as he asked, genuinely concerned.

Samara demorphed, her hands shaking as tears slid down her cheeks. She took a shaky breath, trying to calm her nerves. "I followed y'all on the attack. Suppose I wasn't payin' attention, and when I shot, that thing put Ledger in the way," she said softly. "Shot him instead of the creature....and this is after accidentally hittin' his shoulder with my sword when we was fightin' the Dionauts..." She sat down, not trusting her legs to support her.
"I'm mighty sorry, Mateo...I ain't....I ain't sure what's been happenin'. Y'all talk and half the time I ain't understandin', but I can't just stop in the middle of a fight and ask y'all to dumb it down for my sake. Ain't the first time it's happened, neither..." She looked at her morpher and sighed. "Maybe I ain't the right girl for this."

"Hey hey.." Mateo sat down so that he could get eye level with Samara. "People make mistakes, I'm sure Ledge knows you didn't intentionally try to clip him. As for you, don't get too down on yourself. You absolutely deserve to be here just like any of us. If anything, I should have paid more attention to you being out of position and said more, so I'll do better. For now, just chill a bit. I think we've got around two hours left in our window, so you've got a little time to catch your breath."

With Ledger monitored, Lalah chose to focus on Samara, who happened to be fully shaken by what she had done. She took off her helmet and walked over to her until she knelt to her level. "Don't say that, Samara. It isn't your fault. I like having you here regardless of your status." She reassured her. "As for Ledger, he will forgive you for hurting him accidentally. He just need his time to process."

"A case of the wrong place at the wrong time. It happens. We are all still learning the ropes. Mistakes can and will happen. Don't beat yourself up..." Leon stated trying to wrap up what he was saying as he felt himself getting nervous and clammy.

Samara shook her head softly, listening to the other three Rangers. "Y'all know what y'all are sayin'. I don't understand half the time, and I ain't got the luxury of asking "The hell you sayin'!?" in the middle of a fight. Today showed that." She got up, moving past Lalah and Leon. "I'm just gonna head to my room...lemme know how Ledger is." She walked away, wrapping her arms around herself. Making her way to her room, she shut the door and sank down, tears falling down her cheeks

"Samara..." Lalah whispered in sadness, watching Samara leave. Even though she understood her position, there were things that could only go far for her. "It's my fault. If I hadn't known, I would've helped her navigate properly." She said guiltily.

"How?" Samara asked, looking up at the ceiling. "None of this woulda happened if I knew what the hell they said. Half my problem is I ain't able to figure out what they're talkin' about. Hell, most of what the others say, I don't even think is English." She sighed and clenched her hands. "Wish I was smarter then this..."

Hell, Mateo's been at this for years and he doesn't know everything. If you don't know something and you're in battle, speak up. If you make it known that you don't understand, someone will translate to make it more Sam friendly. But the one thing you can't do is get down on yourself. Hell, I'm also available. I have almost all known dialects and languages programmed into me. All you have to do is ask." The ship's AI finished.

"Don't beat yourself up, Mateo. It was bound to happen. We all come from different timelines and different backgrounds. Just because the last fight we did okay doesn't mean the next one is going to be the same. I heard this quote a lot when I was training. "To make no mistakes is not in the power of man; but from their errors and mistakes the wise and good learn wisdom for the future." We take this and learn from it." Leon stated.

After 'don't beat yourself up', Mateo zoned out a bit. While he heard Leon talking, he wasn't really listening intently as he was thinking of what was next with his mind going a million miles an hour. "Yeah. Right." He said in response before shifting gears.
"We need to stay sharp. I know we don't have a long time, so we need to be prepared to go out and execute with just three of us."

Samara sighed softly, running her hand in her hair and pushing it out of her face. "I'm sorry, Sensei. Still learnin' how all this works, it ain't easy bein' the oldest person on the ship," she said. "Learnin' my story was done dozens of years before Lalah was born, it's all kinda a lot. And me not understandin' half the words that come outta y'all's mouths some times, it gets overwhelmin'."
