"You two are right." Bishop said of Sam and Leon. "Some of the most complicated villains I've tangled with over the centuries are ones that belief that they are the heroes of their story, or at least ones that feel justified in their actions."
Suddenly, the Chrono Coms began to go off, getting all of the Rangers' attention. "New problem!" Sensei spoke up. "TMB scanners have picked up another threat on a Pivot Point. The Pivot Point is in 2017 in a city called Pearl Cove."
"Pearl Cove?" Mateo went silent for a moment. "Wait, that's the place where Power Rangers were spotted for the first time, at least as we know them!"
"Yeah." Sensei confirmed. "During that year, two groups of heroes emerged to face off against horrifying villains. One group was in Japan while the other was in Zen City."

"Pearl Cove...oh!" Ledger said. "Yeah, I've heard about those Rangers. Lotta books and stories about them when I was a kid. Book my sister got me for a birthday was written by a guy from Pearl Cove. Think he was originally from Ada...huh. Small world."
"What is the disturbance?" Samara asked, looking at Bishop.

"I'm wondering about this as well." Lalah added, wondering about the significance of that location. "If Power Rangers are spotted in Japan and Zen City respectively during that year, then why targeting Pearl Cove?"

"Oopsies." Sensei snickered. "The Pivot Point disturbance is actually in Zen City, home of the first group of Rangers dubbed Aura Strikers. The second and more notable Aura Striker Rangers were stationed in Pearl Cove. I got the cities mixed up."
"That's a helluva oopsie, Sensei!"
"Zip it, Mateo."
"I will...as soon as you figure out the right city." Mateo got in a playful jab as it wasn't often that his AI friend slipped up.
Sensei cleared her throat. "As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted... the first team of Aura Strikers were comprised of mostly teenagers, save for their leader who was 18. One day, an immortal demon named Dragonis sent an army of creatures to attack the school where the Rangers attended. The Rangers managed to get the civilians to safety, but as they were gaining the upper hand on the monster invasion, Dragonis chose to blow up the school with a single blast as he watched the building blow up from a distance. Five of the Rangers died in that attack and only one survived." Sensei's tone grew sad as she always felt down anytime she had to read this particular piece of data.

"That's horrible." Lalah felt her heart broke. It's bad enough she's sadden from the loss of one Ranger. Now with almost an entire Ranger team, it became difficult to get by for their loved ones. "My heart goes out to their loved ones and the lone survivor. They don't deserve this immense loss."

"I got this rotten gut feeling that this was actually supposed to happen. Sensei, any more you can tell us as far as timeline wise? Why is this a pivot point?" Leon said in a concerned tone.

"It definitely sucks. Out of all of the Ranger teams I've read up on, that group was probably the most loving with each other and the guy that survived, it took him years to get over that trauma. Luckily, we'll be able to change that! Right, Sensei?" When his AI companion didn't respond, Mateo raised an eyebrow. "Sensei?"
"Actually..." Sensei hesitated. "The goal isn't saving those Rangers. Your mission.." Sensei struggled finishing the sentence to the group. "Your mission is to protect Dragonis and allow him to proceed with the destruction of Zen City High and the Aura Strikers." She finished, audibly disgusted with what she had to say.

"Leon's hunch is correct." Lalah spoke grimly. "I do not know if I am ready for this one. Protecting a foe over the lives of the Power Rangers. It is difficult to fathom."

"Unfortunately, this has to happen." Sensei responded with her tone full of regret. Using one of the Chrono Coms, Sensei created a projection that everyone could watch. "Numerous simulations were ran and even with slight variances, they come to the same end point. If we were to intervene to save those Rangers and kill Dragonis, they will eventually encounter a wizard named Zaron, aligned with an evil organization. They do not survive that battle, thus causing a chain reaction. Because of these two events, the Green Ranger never travels to Japan, leading to the deaths of the SRS Rangers. DRAGO would eventually garner enough strength to defeat the SPD Rangers you recently saw last month, thus eliminating the teams of Nitro Blaze and Drive Charge who were directly assembled as a result of SPD directly or indirectly. Crystal Moon and the Spirit Hunters would provide a last stand but it would be too late. So you see, as much as every fiber of your being is telling you not to, you must ensure Dragonis carries out this attack."

Samara frowned and looked away, her hands clenching. "Helpin' the bad guy. Ain't what we signed up for. Ain't we supposed to be the good guys?" she asked softly. "I don't like it."
"Neither do I," Ledger said, putting his hand on Samara's arm. "But if we have to preserve the Timeline, we have to do it. It genuinely sucks, but we can't risk breaking anything. I hate it as much as you do, Samara, but it's what we gotta do."
Samara nodded, sighing softly. "I know. Don't mean I gotta enjoy it."

"I figured as much. Everyone's got their gripes. So do I. But unfortunately, in this case the ends justify the means and thats where we are. We record and document and in some cases we have to interfere for the good of the timeline and not the heroes." Leon stated in a cold tone.

"I hate it as much as y'all do. Believe me. But as much as it sucks, this is what we signed up for. It's either do this or all of those other Rangers die and then we're stuck having to deal with that DRAGO group." Mateo shook his head. Like the others, he wasn't fond of having to protect someone so vile and has caused so much pain but to protect the timeline, he had no choice.

Lalah mulled it over, understanding from her teammates' perspective. Eventually, she sighed through her nose. "I may not like this. Even with ideas I think of, it will end with interference. There's no other option than sticking with the objective." She said.

"So it's settled. We head back to the ship and set off for 2017." Mateo said to the group. "You coming Big Bro?" He asked Bishop who shook his head.
"Afraid not. This is y'all show. I have work here. I have faith that you all will execute and preserve the timeline." The senior agent addressed the group.
