Time Force Delta Squad: Trapped (S2 Game)

The concerns floated passes Cody in a daze. He hears them, but they don’t quite reach him. A flare of panic shut through him and he takes several shaky steps back.

Cody has by now close his eyes and is simply responding on instinct. Flashes of the messages K’hysh leaves for him, the torture he suffers against Galilee, his mother’s words, replay over and over again in his mind. He immediately stumbles backwards, away from the entrance, away from everyone.

“Y-You can’t be real. Y-You left us.” It is just above a whisper. Cody's eyes now open. Cody is waiting for K’hysh to be an illusion but it doesn't work. His anxiety grow with every second that nothing happened. "You left-left us behind with a will."

"Oh, Cody," K'hysh said softly. She walked forward slowly, reaching out and gently taking Cody's hands, squeezing softly. "I never meant those messages to be a will. I was stepping down as Red Ranger, and I watned to leave you guys messages to keep you going when the Commander replaced me. Those were never, not in a hundred million years, ever meant as a will. And I am so sorry I left you. I left all of you with a gaping wound, and I can never make that up. I...H'ronmeer, I am so sorry. Cody, you and Kari are hurt the worse by this, and I wish I knew what I could do to make it up to you."

"No... this has to be a trick... I can't... Kari," Sojiro said, still in shock of what he's seeing.

Cody would’ve jumped to hug her, but some part of him holds back. “I…I…just want… time t-to sort all this." He swallows the lump in his throat. "You sure... are real, K'hysh."

"Because I am real, Cody," K'hysh said, reaching up and putting her hand on his cheek gently. "I know you don't trust me anymore, and I understand why." She took a shaky breath and sighed. "I'm constantly fighting to get my own mind back. Just like you struggled to regain your memories. I don't know how long this can hold, but I knew I needed to talk to you. Especially after taht day with Galilee."

Tanjiro sighed softly, watching everyone in the room. M'yrnn had moved closer to his sister who was still talking with Cody, Sojiro looked ready to jump the gun and attack K'hysh the moment he perceived her doing something wrong, and he let his gaze wander to Kari and Alluka's conversation. As the odd man out, he kept silent and watched, lowering his eyes softly.

"Because I am real, Cody," K'hysh said, reaching up and putting her hand on his cheek gently. "I know you don't trust me anymore, and I understand why." She took a shaky breath and sighed. "I'm constantly fighting to get my own mind back. Just like you struggled to regain your memories. I don't know how long this can hold, but I knew I needed to talk to you. Especially after taht day with Galilee."

"I-It's not on y-you. It's on me." Cody admits softly, his body sagging in defeat. "I thought I w-was doing better until my former f-friend returned and... fucked me up all over again. What I do know is this, we do need to talk... soon as we split you f-from Arianas."

"Take your time Alluka." Kari said with a sigh not wanting to get into everything at the moment. "I'm not going to argue what I felt and why I felt it, if we can't move past that then at least we can work together to get through all of this." She said shrugging. "But, I am sorry for today." She said before walking away to take a seat across the room from everyone. The truth of it all was, though she couldn't control herself, all of those feelings had to have been there before for them to all funnel out like that. Her team wouldn't trust her again and she had already come to terms with that.

"We need to make a plan on how to kill Fumiosa." She said dryly looking back at the others.

"I may be the one who needed it but I think one in particular deserves the apology." Alluka says to Kari, motioning her head to Tanjiro's direction since he suffers her wrath the most. Seeing her boyfriend trying to come to grips with K'hysh and Soujiro struggling with the notion, she choose to walk over to Tanjiro to check on him.

Looking over at K'hysh Kari gave a half nod when she gave her the answer she was needing. "Thanks and noted." The young woman stood and made her way to the exit. Not another word said, she exited and made to leave the ship.

Cody can’t help but exhale heavily and closes his eyes, quietly cherishing the hug from K’hysh. They have a long way to go to rebuild their friendship. But having a small reason to separate K’hysh from Arianas does help. As he watches her go, his eyes eventually shift towards M’yrnn, who happens to be staring at him. Sighing, he slowly gets up. “You’re not going to say anything?” He asks M’yrnn.

Tanjiro looked over as Alluka came up. "I'm alright. Used to being a punching bag."

Alluka shakes her head. "Does not mean you deserve it. Nobody should take the brunt of it, even when grief is involved." She explains, placing her hand on Tanjiro's shoulder. "You may not realize it, but you are like a younger brother I always wanted who deserves to be protected. What Kari done is understandable and yet, inexcusable. She hurt us and most of all, you. You do not deserve the pain."
