I just had to ask this question after watching all of Kyuukyuu Sentai GoGo-V and begun my re-watch of Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue because I am aware that Super Sentai exists and that Power Rangers has been using stock footage and Sentai storylines just to tell a story to a Western audience. But, lately in the more recent years, I see Power Rangers trying to do their own thing and I hardly see any Sentai storylines being adapted into the U.S. Hell, Dino Charge BARELY used any storylines from Kyoryuger to be adapted and the only direct comparisons would be the Gold Ranger and how he's like an older man, mentally for being sealed in Fury/Dogold's "body" for over hundreds of years. Beast Morphers doesn't use a whole lot of storylines from Go-Busters. Especially, the 13 Messiah Cards arc. Hell, they took Messiah's kaijuu form from Go-Busters and made it into Evox's new body, but with an extra added twist and *SPOILER ALERT!!* Evox is actually a past Power Rangers villain from a different season. And it's not a villain character from the classic Saban-era seasons. Dino Fury completely dropped almost EVERYTHING from Ryuusoulger's storylines. Including Canalo/Ryuusoul Gold's running gag about finding a wife for so that he can provide an heir for his tribe. That was never going to translate into Aiyon's character. And don't get me started with the drastic change of the Green Ranger going from Male to female in the U.S. version. Yet alone, the first-ever female LGBTQ+ Power Ranger in the franchise. That's something that you don't see happening in Super Sentai, lately.
So again....why are we still comparing Power Rangers to Super Sentai? Can't we just let these two franchises stand on their own two feet without having to say this was better because "blah-blah-blah-blah-blah," or that the other show is better because it's shows blood, or that it feels like it's an adult's show for kids, or that it has insert songs, other catchy songs, etc. If you want a real comparison between Apples and Oranges, try watching Amazon's "The Boys" and compare it to it's comic book source material of the same title. Then you'll be surprised to see why the show was less violent and less messed-up than the comic books.

It's the writing and storytelling in Power Rangers that has gotten bad over the years ever since Haim Saban bought the rights back.
Power Rangers RPM (or In Space, depends on who you're asking) is seen as the magnum opus of the franchise in terms of amazing writing, storytelling, character development, at least in comparison to their sentai counterparts, especially Go-onger.
From when Haim Saban bought the rights back to now, its seen as a massive downgrade and it is. People compare them for understandable reasons. There's a reason why fans STILL compare Gokaiger to Super Megaforce. Super Sentai is show that obviously moves forward with their writing, storytelling, and character development. Power Rangers is not, it's now a show desperately clinging to the past trying to center a nearly 30 year old franchise all around ONE Entry, Mighty Morphin. And fans are getting sick of it.
Personally, I'm more excited for Donbrothers than Dino Fury. My brother hasn't been excited for anything Power Rangers since RPM and he's excited for Donbrothers.
I told my brother about Lord Zedd coming back and he was upset. In terms of the show's story, what purpose does it serve for Lord Zedd to come back in Dino Fury? The answer is NONWHATSOEVER! Why is he back? MMPR nostalgia. That's it.
Trust me its gonna get worse when that unnecessary reboot comes out on Netflix.
I think the comparisons will stop when Power Rangers goes back to creating quality television like from the Post Zordon era or the Disney Era, and stop trying to relive the glory days of MMPR or desperately try to be like the MCU.

. I think the comparisons will stop when Power Rangers goes back to creating quality television like from the Post Zordon era or the Disney Era Power Rangers has never been quality television. Especially in the Disney era. On TV, yes. But on DVDs, no. I've noticed that the quality of each past season of Power Rangers looked more clearer and brighter on DVD. Even before most of the past seasons were removed from Netflix, years ago. Including the Disney era seasons. The Neo-Saban era....yeah, it got worse. The Hasbro era is just "okay!"It's the writing and storytelling in Power Rangers that has gotten bad over the years ever since Haim Saban bought the rights back. Well, that depends on which season of Power Rangers you are watching, dude. Now, the Disney-era is where you started to see a huge difference in the quality of the show, production and story-wise. Primarily because everything is film and shot in New Zealand and all of the actors are not American, but either New Zealand or Australian. Power Rangers is not, it's now a show desperately clinging to the past trying to center a nearly 30 year old franchise all around ONE Entry, Mighty Morphin. And fans are getting sick of it. In other words, they shouldn't have to be relying on just Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (season and possibly two) as just the only installment to make direct call-backs to or to keep banking on that childhood nostalgia when they have other seasons that they could do direct call-backs to. Like Time Force, or Dino Thunder or SPD, or Mystic Force or Jungle Fury or even Power Rangers Zeo for that matter. Well, thankfully for me, I have the Ultraman franchise to look back to. The answer is NON-WHAT-SO-EVER! Why is he back? MMPR nostalgia. That's it. Well, the main reason why they brought back Lord Zedd isn't because of nostalgia. But because his suit is obviously the most cheapest suit they could use in Dino Fury's production and it's much easier for them to hire a voice actor instead of spending extra money to get another classical Power Rangers villain character to come back. I mean, Rita Repulsa is obviously too expensive to bring back. Scorpina could work. But, unfortunately, they would have to recast the original U.S. actress, Sabrina Lu with another Asian actress and pretty much be done with that. Divatox is a huge "Hell No!" Astronema is now Karone, Trakeena is also a huge "Hell No!" and unless, you want to see any of the villains from Lightspeed Rescue to come back, that's very unlikely. Ransik, "Hell no!! Master Org, no. Lothor is a big "no-no!!" Because his actor, Grant McFarland is dead and that sucks. Messogog...no. Emperor Gruumn....not in your life because Rene Nafahu, the same actor who played Mentor Jii in Samurai is facing allegations of sexual assault. Mystic Force...well, I guess they could bring back Imperious or any of the Ten Terrors. But definitely not (Octomus) The Master. He sucks. Necrolai has been used in cameos way too many times. The villains in Operation Overdrive.... "HELLLLLL NO!!!" Especially, Thrax. Jungle Fury, either the three overlords or the phantom beasts. But that's it. Samurai.....does anybody even like Octoroo at this point?! Vrak, maybe. They've already used Sledge a bajillion times and Venjix was Evox in Beast Morphers. Ninja Steel....either bring back Madam Odious or the Galactic Ninjas. Or Cosmo Royale. And they definitely weren't going to bring back the Pyscho Rangers. Nor were they ever going to introduce Psycho Green into the TV sd how for that matter. So yeah. There you have it. Well, enjoy watching your more recent Sentai series that was just handed over to Toshiki Inoue on a silver platter. And if you don't know who Toshiki Inoue is, look up Ultraman R/B, Kamen Rider Faiz, Mirai Sentai Timeranger; Case File 22: "Pink Temptation" and Chojin Sentai Jetman. He's wrote various episodes in those show and is infamous for starting his own drinking game. Click here on how to play the drinking game!!

Okay?! But look. You brought up the argument about why your brother was upset about Lord Zedd being brought back in Power Rangers Dino Fury. That's all on you. And just because they had a variety of other, yet somewhat better past villain characters in Power Rangers that aren't from Mighty Morphin'(seasons one-three) but could be brought back to life in later seasons of the TV show. Doesn't neccesarily mean that they can afford any of these characters to come back. And even if they did, it's likely that they are going to recast most of the original U.S. voice actors the past villan characters and replace them with these unknown New Zealand voice actors that sound nothing like the originals, okay?!
