Former Channel Awesome member Allison Pregler (once know as Obscurus Lupa) went on Twitter and called Power Rangers SPD the "Copaganda" season. Called it terrible not because of it's story structure or it's characters, but because she said that basically the SPD team are racist cause they chase down illegal aliens and that one black guy (Jack, SPD Red) started as a criminal.
Many fans, especially black fans, replied to her and reportedly she blocked almost every one of them. And has since made her account private. I have pics of her tweets, but I don't know how to upload them.
I talked about this a few days ago with the whole Lupinranger vs Pataranger not being adapted because of this mentality
What happened in 2020 ain't got nothing to do with SPD nor Jack nor should it effect the whole show going forward.
What do you think?

I dunno who's her, but she has the usual mentality of people believing "fantasy" or "escapism" has to be about "current day events" and "about them". It's like a disease at this point. They don't tolerare other people's views and they don't see beyond the spectrum of race. Don't get me wrong: fantasy and sci-fi could be used as an allegory to current-day problems, but if It's not gonna be entertaining, or interesting, it's not worth it. Look the Star Trek right now. It's awful, because people in charge believe in, and have some mentality like this person, that they don't care about other people's opinion. It's sad to watch Picard or Discovery right now. Really, really awful series.

I think she's in the wrong fandom if she ever thought Power Ranger fans had the emotional maturity to talk about the inherent issues with their pwecious toy commercial. And nuance isn't a thing for this fandom.
But also Time Force is way worse copaganda than SPD as it literally has the Rangers dismissing the revelation they work for a racist human supramacist organization
And also lol at some idiots thinking issues with police brutality started in 2020 and hasn't been a thing forever. Touch grass nerds.

@venusaur And you are in the wrong fandom if you're here calling everybody's wrong and believing if there is no mature people to talk about Power Rangers in this fandom. But again, if you are in the fandom, and you are talking about people with lack of maturity, probably you are talking about yourself.

I talked about this a few days ago with the whole Lupinranger vs Pataranger not being adapted because of this mentality What happened in 2020 ain't got nothing to do with SPD nor Jack nor should it effect the whole show going forward. What do you think? Honestly, I think Allison Pregler is just overreacting. Me?! And I am saying this from the perspective of a Power Rangers fan and as a black man in the U.S., I didn't have much of an issue with Jack and Z being juveniles since they only intended on stealing for those who were less fortunate than anyone else was. They're basically the show's version of "Robin Hood FROOM THE FUUUUTUUUURE!!!" (If you didn't get the Futurama reference, then you should definitely find someone who actually has seen the show, before.) My issue is that Doggie Cruger knew about what happened to Jack and Z's parents but didn't bothered to bring them and adopt them so that they will be ready to join SPD as the newest members of the B-Squad and that they were actually undercover cadets. So, that's just bad writing. But, I do get the fact that Sky, before his character arc was set-up and before he was fully developed later on in the show, he might have been seen as a possible sexist and racist because of the fact that Jack has a criminal record and that Doggie Cruger would just willing make him the Red Ranger and not Sky. And the fact that he didn't even know that the A-Squad's Red Ranger, Charlie was actually a woman this whole time. So, whatever. Besides, it's not like Power Rangers has ever touched upon some more "serious" topics in the past and present before, like prejudice or terrorism, body-shaming or a fear of fish or a fear that your friends will laugh at you because you like playing a concert piano and that you enjoy listening to classical music or that you parents would tell you to give up painting and playing the tuba because you're now a Power Ranger or whatever. Or that you're afraid of spiders or that your best friend's real name is Waldo, etc. Or that your friends might actually get into a foreign TV show that you yourself find weird like anime or Kamen Rider or Ultraman, etc. But I digress. I mean, SPD is still a good season overall, but it's not perfect. It's just that most other people, like you and I would be turned off by so many other things such as the fact that the character of Boom was never made into an official Power Ranger at the end of the season, or that Jack just suddenly resigned from SPD making Sky the new Red Ranger at the end or the unnecessarily, infamous KALISHPLOSIONS!!! No seriously, f@#$ Kalishplosions!!! Mystic Force and Operation Overdrive made them even worse. But Space Patrol Delta being racist because they are chasing down actual criminals from Outer Space and the fact that one black guy and a Hispanic woman are just two common street rats stealing for the homeless are suddenly being given an opportunity to be cops and superheroes?! *pffft!!!* GTFO!!!

Well, at least xman engages people. This Allison woman, just shuts down people who wants to argument a different thing. I agree with xman in this one, she overreacted. And it's a really bad take on her part.

Besides, if I wanted to set my social media account(s) to private, I would do it to avoid anyone trying to hack my account and would use my identity for any type of fraudulent crimes. Obscurus Lupa was just doing it to trigger some people and she just didn't think things through. Still, it wouldn't hurt if we actually did get some Boom! Studios spin-off comic books following the event after Power Rangers SPD ended or limited some prequel series in the near-future.

At least you tried.
