Now, this is just something that was recently on YouTube because nobody could ever tell the difference between the acting in the Disney-era of Power Rangers and the acting in the Neo-Saban era of Power Rangers. The classic Saban-era seasons had their own fare-share of good, bad and mediocre acting. But, it depends on who is directing the episodes. Me?! I don't care about the acting because I want to hear people talk more about whether or not a season in Power Rangers has a good story to tell and if the seasons were well-written or if the story they were trying to tell was being handled poorly due to bad management, poor leadership qualities, laziness or in the case of Disney micro-managing Operation Overdrive....incompetence, selfishness, greed and borderline ignorance. Hence why the season was a case study of good ideas, but poor and shoddy execution. The acting is more of a foot-note. An afterthought in my opinion.
Anyways, here is the video. Enjoy!!!

Samurai still remains the worst acting I have ever seen in any film or television production ever. And I’ve seen Troll 2.

For me I never had much issues with old Saban and disney. I though acting was fine. Sure some times some bad lines or some actors where a little weak. Neo Saban for me and you can see it in samurai and mega force seasons. Was the tone and writing style totally dip and went to talking down to kids vs what it was before. And the writing was just piss poor those series and the actors for the most part had no characterization and wasn't able to emote more for what ever reasons.

Like AlwaysARanger85 said, the Sabat Ent. acting was fine and had its own tone and flare. Disney acting was fine for me as well. The Neo-Saban one is questionable.

Interesting…. It just depends on the ranger to me. While most rangers are not giving you Oscar winning performances, a few rangers I gotta give props to are Billy, Trini, Adam, Andros, Maya, Wes, Lucas, Katie, Shelby,
Now some of the worse one I can think of right now is Zayto… hes probably the worse. Kimberly, Rocky, Carlos, TJ, Tonya (before she magically lost the accent) Joel, the entire Samurai & Mega Force Crew, Koda (as popular as you were! I hated your acting) Steel…. And did I mention Zayto!

And did I mention Zayto! I’m at a loss with some of these. The guy playing Lucas was a horrendous actor. In a season that otherwise had solid acting (especially by Power Rangers standards) he stood out as a weak link. No disrespect to the late Thuy Trang but it was clear she was hired for her martial arts skills and not her acting skills (which she lacked) I know Bosch became a great voice actor, and obviously he was a phenomenal martial artist but yeah no he was a horrible actor in Power Rangers . One of the worst in the Mighty Morphin era which is saying something. People seem to confuse their love for Johnny Yong Bosch the voice of Vash the Stampede and Ichigo and Kaneda with him being a good actor in Power Rangers. I don’t know a single person who would ever say Amy Jo Johnson was one of the worst actors in Power Rangers. I’m not here to overstate her talents because she is pretty average actor by normal standards but she was by far the only competent Ranger actor in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (though I think Paul Schrier and Jason Narvy are more talented) and really probably the best Ranger actor until Jason Faunt and Erin Cahill in Time Force. “As far as the entire Samurai and Megaforce” crew. That’s just overselling it. Ciara Hanna was good. What’s his face that played Mike did okay. Kimberly Crossman did okay as well.

The last time I rewatched the MMPR movie I had to chuckle cuz you could tell the director did the best he could with what he had to work with by giving all the most dramatic/emotional lines to Amy Jo Johnson lmao.

Not just the movie. It’s not a coincidence that the Snizzard episode was heavily rewritten and reshot from a mostly straightforward adaptation of the Zyuranger counterpart with Kim being asleep for most of it to being an episode that allowed AJJ to flex her dramatic chops (and Shier and Narvy to flex their comedic chops) she was also given way more meat to work with her losing her powers compared to Tommy losing his green ranger power where JDF just made pouty faces and generic sad boy comments about Zedd being mean to him. Tommy was going to be given a lot of material regardless of JDF’s complete lack of talent but the crew need who was their more valuable player.
