Reading the actual scene they had planned for him, he attempts to creep on the cat then gets slapped and told him off. Couldn’t they just have left that in to condemn his past history?

It just sucks this whole cancel culture there is now when it's a darn cartoon skunk. I rather they just modernise his character. Just downplay/stop his romancing the lady cat. And use him in other ways. Like for example in original space jam when mj used him to stink the monstar.

You say that but then there's the problem of older folks talking about how they "PCed my childhood" like wasn't that recent Loony Tunes cartoon under fire because Elmer & Sam don't use guns in their skits?
Anyway honestly I don't feel like it's a big loss because what are you going to a Space Jam movie for? Loony Tunes playing basket ball or a 4csecond joke about how Peppy is a creep in today's age? Well both answers are wrong since the reality it's seeing how Lola Bunny's gonna corrupt a whole generation like before (joke)

It's essentially pulling a Tiffany. The Jetsons Movie recast Judy to get a big name attached. What's funny is that years later, Bob Bergen (Voice of Porky Pig) and others have voiced how they hated that decision, since the talent often doesn't do well in voice over. Zendaya's only other VO credit was in Smallfoot.
And the Pepe Le Pew controversy is in heat again. They took out Pepe, but if you look at the crowd, WB included the gang from Clockwork Orange. A gang that r**** a woman in the film.
SJ2 looks like it is trying way too hard. The first was more about the Toons getting Michael to help them. This one looks like Lebron is the center and everything is bending to him. Their opponents feel way to ridiculous compared to the MonStars.

Ya it looks all cool and flashy but this is pretty much ready player one just with James as the lead and the tunes as his gang.
