There's buzz of possibly having Mon-El back, but it could just be all his fangirls. I'm not averse to bringing him back if they let him be a person, and not just Kara's ~star crossed lover~. That said, I'm kind of hoping we'll see more of her adoptive father, because it really bothered me how they dangled that in front of us and then it sort of disappeared again.

I saw the "Supergirl" movie on DVD at the Baltimore Comic-Con this weekend and told someone near me that the star of that movie plays Kara's foster mom on the show. They had no idea!

Monel, will be coming back actor didn't leave the show. He is still a series or recurring guest for this upcoming season. We just haven't heard much on Monel arch.

Mon-El will be returning for season 3. It is official. Oh and Erica Durance will be taking over in a role.

Erica Durance is taking over the role of Alura, Kara's mother. It's going to be interesting how that's portrayed.
Erica's casting makes her the fifth actor from past Superman/Supergirl related shows/movies to join the cast next to Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman), Laura Vadervoort (Smallville), and Helen Slater (Supergirl 1984, as she played Lois Lane on Smallville.

For me I feel it's a bit if a waste using Erica as allura. As Erica and original actress don't really look the same. I would have rather Erica play some other character. But I am curious to see what they want to do with Kara mom.

Well premiere just ended for me. I thought it was a solid start. Nice intro for Morgan edge and what a jerk he is. Man that actor sure loves jerk characrers. His scenes with Lena and Kara and superglue was very well done. And finding out he was one sending out bloodsport to steal weapons from military interesting. Erica as Kara mom was handled well for dreams. And Kara struggle to be human and super was handled well I thought. Reign was teased nice but I can't wait to see more of her. Next week looks cool with psychic villain. Also I liked how cat is still here and now the president press secretary nice way to keep her around.

What do you expect??? Adrian Pasdar was married to one of the Dixie Chicks!
I think Ruby's mom IS Reign.

I loved the premiere. Kara's dealing with trying to distance herself was handled well and I'm kind of excited to see what else happens this season. Reign's teasing was interesting and I'm hoping she's pulled off well considering she's the first TRUE Supergirl villain from the comics to be brought in.
Kara and Lena's interactions are always fun for me, but maybe that's because I kinda ship SuperCorp, no offense to the Karamel fans, just my own preference. Glad to see Lena undermine Edge to snatch CatCo from his grip. Maggie and Alex is still one of my favorite parts of last season, and while I'm a little bummed Floriana Lima, Maggie's actress, isn't sticking around for the whole season, the few eps we will have with her are bound to be fun.
She is. One of the big things that this season of Supergirl is going ot deal with is the MAKING of a villain instead of just "Oh, this is the bad guy and they're doing bad things for reasons." We're going to see her becoming Reign over the course of the season.
