Well with Carlin passing years ago they didn't want to recast the role. Though if I recall correctly a Rufus family member will also be helping them besides grim reaper.

Wish I could see movie in theater. Though my region regular theaters are still closed. And only drive in open but the ones near me just playing older films.

I've seen the movie. It was good, pretty short at 90 minutes and it has a most abrupt of endings. Fun and very feel good with a good mix of familiar and new characters. The daughter are very likeable and don't intrude too much on the thrust of the a-plot involving Bill and Ted. Some people will groan at the final outcome given current year attitudes, but it's still a wild ride for the Stallions.
