I enjoyed Samurai. Might be in the minority but I had fun with this season. Cool story, decent actors imo, okay to just plain boss characters, and a decent anericanization of a foreign concept. Same thing with Super Samurai with Serrator added on to make that season even more awesome. Plus, the four part finale from The Tengen Gate to The Ultimate Duel was well paced, action packed, emotional for Daiyu and Deker, and fun.

I actually have two major problems with this season that are very different from the normal complaints people give it. Otherwise, i think its okay. The characters aren't actually as bad as people say. The cast are likable. Going back and watching clips I've realized that the cast do shine a lot. Its those moments during fight scenes where Saban told them "yo the audience are kids" where they flopped. The writing could use some cleanup. Even Troy is pretty ok. I have a very similar friend irl except she's a girl. For those who say, Troy shows no emotion that's not very true. He ranges from being really serious-emotional-overacting and he actually gets some great moments. The villains are funny except Mavro and Vrak who are b@**$$ instead. The cameos were actually decent. Returning Rangers only appeared when the Rangers were in a big pickle, acting more like mentors or backup in the case of those in Legendary Battle. Sure we could've gotten more from them, but what we did get worked. Tensou is cute and while Gosei isn't a great mentor, him handing out powers randomly is an overstatement. All the powers he had, the Rangers had to prove themselves worthy of and most of the time, he wasn't lying when he said they did. This brings me to my first complaint. I said most of the time, "you've unlocked the powers of Ninja Storm" sadly is ridiculous. The Rangers didn't go Legendary Ranger Mode; Ninja Storm. Why couldn't he be rewarding Noah and Jake for their teamwork or Noah for creating a solution to a difficult problem or creativity in general. Orion just bashes Tranceferer around a bit with Q-Rex and then Gosei says they unlocked the powers of Ninja Storm. It wasn't like Samurai or Jungle Fury where a past Ranger granted the power. Or was it? Jayden makes it clear the Legendary Rangers were watching the Super Mega Rangers. So did the Ninja Rangers reward them. Now to address the complaints people usually have. Jake's key's simple explanation is obviously that Green and Black Rangers are (usually) interchangeable on a given team. Its either one or the other, so Jake represents both. The New Powers are stated to be Rangers who have never fought on Earth but did exist. Sometimes the Rangers make it seem like they're battle modes but its pretty obvious they're mean't to be from other worlds and though its kinda lazy, i liked seeing them. At least, they named them. Oh and before you say "they mixed up names", Gia was saying "Legendary Ranger Blitz" as in lets do like Troy and attack rapidly switching between modes. She wasn't calling Lightning "Blitz". Dragon Power was also never stated to be the name of Blitz. They were saying they'd tap into Dragon Power just like Orion said they'd tap into the Zeo Crystal. The Pirate theme being ignored was a bummer. I understand Pirates are usually bandits and Saban wouldn't want the heroes to be bandits but that still sucked. Though to be fair, Mighty Morphin called all its weapons "Power (insert weapon type)" so calling their gear "Super Mega (insert weapon type)" wasn't that bad. For me it wasn't a major problem since Mighty Morphin used the Dino Theme by having the Zords be named after their respective Dino and MMPR S3 and MMAR use Ninjas as a motif more than the theme of the season. The Ninja suits were the closet thing to Ninja. For those who say Ninja Steel doesn't have enough Ninja stuff, watch MMPR S3 without nostalgia goggles. As for certain Rangers who "shouldn't be called Legendary" remember that Time Force did the majority of their fighting in 2001, S.P.D. was founded long before the S.P.D. season takes place, and the Morphing Grid spans dimensions for RPM. Wes could call Time Force back to the past for the Legend War and if S.P.D. didn't time travel to change history, it could've been the previous B-Squad fighting in the war as it was never specified. RPM could've come to this dimension after the Turbo Falcon Zord had been tamed and formed a bond with the Rangers in the"Prime Dimension". As for oddities in the Legend War, Mighty Morphin could be the original team, Zeo could be Rocky, Kat, Adam, and Tanya. Turbo could be the Robot Rangers plus Justin. In Space would thus be the 2nd team of Turbo Rangers. Zeo Red and Dino Thunder Black are luckily missing from most shots. Sentai shots are lazy editing. As for the Keys coming to exist, Zordon could've tied the Command Center to the Morphing Grid upon placing Gosei there. Keys would be generated to represent each Ranger Team in case such a thing was needed. The Super Mega Mode Keys were created as a base mode for this since using the powers would harm the users of Legendary Mode. The Rangers' "fighting spirit" and the Armada's overwhelming power convinced Gosei to give the Morphers to the Rangers. Somehow the Sixth key got lost and when Orion found it, the 6th Rangers began to talk to him. So that's all of that. So my 2nd complaint; Robo Knight is an awesome character. Funny, badass, great development, and a sad sacrifice. But then, he comes back with no explanation ruining it all. That's not the worst part. I get the other Rangers were there just to fight. They introduced themselves, fought, and went home. I get they all had lives to get back to. I also get Robo Knight and Troy didn't have much time to chat during the war, but why did he leave with the other Legendary Rsngers. Why not have him stay and reunite with his friends. Sure his sacrifice would be ruined Fairy Tail style (or perhaps he could've explained his return) but it would've led to an emotional ending. Also, is Orion gonna go rebuild his world, how bout Gosei and Tensou congratulating the Rangers? No? Okay. And that word describes Super Megaforce. Its okay. Unfortunately though, overhyping caused a lot of hate for it and in my opinion, its pretty ok.

Again imo, if they pull a Forever Red and have Tommy bring together a group of Rangers, that would work well.

The anniversary doesn't need much build up. We're only gonna get 6 returning Rangers anyway and it seems they'll be a team since they'll match the colors of the Ninja Steel Rangers.

I definitely can't wait to we get more details for 25th season. Same goes with anni. Personally I would rather have cameos in a few episodes to build up the return guys. So then we can focus more on story of the anni team up ep. Then oh all these old guys are here out if the blue and if it's only 1 22 min episode there is so much that needs to be done. I would also want it to be a hr special myself. But still more details for anni be great. And I do hope we get some tidbits this weekend. Forever Red was a 22 minute episode and was just fine. We should focus more on the Overall story and less on nostalgia.

Awesome poster. Glad we'll just be getting an anniversary episode instead of cameos and an anniversary episode like SMF. That way the season can focus on telling a story.

I actually really enjoyed both this and Samurai. Sure, they're similar to the Sentai and the acting isn't always up to par, but the story is fun and the characters aren't actually that bad. Antonio is one of my favorite Rangers ever. Up there with Andros, T.J. and others.

The best part of this situation was the in show explanation. A World Peace Conference. Really? That doesn't sound like something permanent. Why not give up their powers temporarily? (I know the actors walked but the story explanation was poor).

Red it is still a waste of money with suits used to stand around and do nothing. It would make more sense if they where ground power up mode to use in a real fight. If Bandai really wants more toys the cockpit mode should just be a toy exclusive item. Like the countless just Roy items in the toy lines. Very true. Making the suits cost money. The least they can do is film original footage for the suits instead of just cockpit stuff. If they're going to spend the money. Go all the way.

I actually don't mind the Cockpit modes. They look cool and though they're just to make original stuff to boost the toyline and yet they don't wanna film enough OG footage for them, but at least in (Super) Samurai, they made them feel useful by making the (Mega)zords need the Mega Blade and Mega Mode to be piloted. (Super) Ninja Steel has the Megazord need a "Ninja Master" to have power. Maybe those are lame story purposes but at least they made them feel less meaningless. Even Dino Drive was created because the Dino Charge Megazord was no match for the Ptera Charge Megazord.
Dino Super Drive was not needed. They obviously wanted to use more Kyoryuger footage due to the 22 Episode limited and the lack of sense a hybrid would make. They needed to brand it as a new show for the toy sales and thus had to make a Power Up to brand the Season around. So they decided on T-Rex Super Charge Red Ranger because that would allow them to sell a new Morpher (since each "New PR show" needa one like the Black Box in SS and the Legendary Morpher in SMF), but that wasn't enough so they had to make a new mode for the whole team to assume but since they didn't want to film too much original footage for it so they made it a cockpit mode. In the show it seemed forced. Ivan just says they don't know what Snide can do and Kendall's like "Well maybe this can help. I was working on this technology to fight Sledge, but now that he's gone, I've reworked it to work to give us a stronger Megazord." Or something like that. Okay Kendall great but why specifically the Megazord. What, has Snide made the Magna Beam mutate monsters into super strong unbeatable demons upon growth or something?
Regardless (Super) Ninja Steel is taking a similar route. "We have Levi going to get a Super Mode based on Super StarNinger which will allow them to sell a new Sword (probably Super Ninja Star Blade). However this isn't enough so we need all 6 Rangers to utilize a new mode but we don't wanna film too much original footage for it so lets make it a cockpit mode." "Genius but how will we sell a new Morpher toy this year?" "Let's have the other Rangers use Lion Fire Mode next Season so we can sell the Chozetsu Changer as the Lion Fire Morpher or something like that!" "Bruh, Bandai and Saban are gonna love us!" "I know man!"
I just hope this "Super Ninja Master Mode has reason to exist."
