Not much has changed since this season came on the air back in 2011. There's like nothing spectacular about this season at all. The only things that are positive about Power Rangers Samurai are Mike's character, Rick Mendina as Deker, Paul Schrier returning as Bulk and Grant Macfarland as Daisuke in the episode, "The Tengen Gate". But other than that, I don't think that Samurai is really that good of a season. It's just kind of dull, in my opinion. But, if you liked it, fine. Whatever. Me?! I am never gonna bother rethinking about this season again, I am just gonna forget about it. Sorry.
But what do you guys think about Power Rangers Samurai as a season? Good or not?

If you're not going to bother rethinking about this series and just forget about it why are you making a thread for it and Super Samurai?

I enjoyed Samurai. Might be in the minority but I had fun with this season. Cool story, decent actors imo, okay to just plain boss characters, and a decent anericanization of a foreign concept. Same thing with Super Samurai with Serrator added on to make that season even more awesome. Plus, the four part finale from The Tengen Gate to The Ultimate Duel was well paced, action packed, emotional for Daiyu and Deker, and fun.

If you're not going to bother rethinking about this series and just forget about it why are you making a thread for it and Super Samurai? Because, there are other people out there who might actually this and Super Samurai for what they are, even if I am not a fan of these two particular seasons. I can't just keep going around and ruining the experiences for others who might actually be interested in them. I am not some whiny, butt-hurt purist fanboy or whatever. I am just a guy who trying to give out my opinion about the seasons, but I don't have to be a fan of them. All I can do is just respect the fact that Samurai and Super Samurai are as much part of this established history of Power Rangers as any othe season that came before them and that there are others that might enjoy them for what they are and let their opinions speak for themselves. That is what it means to be a human being, and as a fan, in my opinion. Otherwise, we're just setting really bad examples like Doug Walker (The Nostalgia Critic) did in his older reviews thinking that our opinons only matters and no one else's do. We're not gods. We're just like everyone else. Okay?! That's all I gotta say.

My problem with this is jt wanting a total copy paste sentai season. Without making enough changes to fit us audience the writing and acting suffered from this and season was a real dull for me. And reading the story editor articles from old board you can really see jt really was stupid.

To me the issue is this. We know jt is a lover of the dental shows. We have heard many stories he wanted x show to just be a copy paste of the sentai. In the past that didn't happen cause jt wasn't only guy in charge. Other folks kept him in check and we saw the added original stuff that makes x shows there own thing. But when we got jt in charge by himself and not being kept in check he just lousy copy paste show and didn't make enough changes to make it work for western fans.

Was there any footage of an explosion behind the 6 rangers posing when they defeat a monster or do a roll call, or was that footage from the Sentai? I'm asking because Kadam's Edits has footage like this in his old 3rd Samurai opening and I want to use the footage for my 3rd Fan opening to Samurai:

What do you guys think the chances of Hasbro adapting Samurai and Super Samurai into an actual movie? And would you be interested in seeing it with an actual Asian-American actor playing the role of "Jayden" Shiba?

I think its hilarious that fans are big mad at casting a white guy for Jayden Shiba but then don’t see the problem with demanding an “Asian” Red Ranger for Samurai. Not Japanese, Asian. Because all Asians are the same amirite?

Now I have been trying to avoid watching this show again for six years at this point. The last time I revisited this show, it was very unpleasant. But, upon rethinking about Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, I will say that the only thing that I was not a fan of in terms of storytelling, was the whole ideal of honor, familial obligations and responsibility being should into our heroes since childhood. Now, obviously, the blue ranger was the easy example since he didn't want to do the whole Samurai thing in his heart, but he had no other choice but to do it. Unfortunately, this did not translate well into adaption, especially for Kevin's backstory and character. I mean, if he was actually a kid from Nigeria, or if he just had actual African background for his character in the show, that would have been different. But as an American athlete/swimmer, yeah I don't think that would work. Mike, we have no idea if he was forced into the Samurai thing or if he chose to do it on his own free will because apparently, they skipped the Shinkenger episode where we actually did meet Chiaki's father for the first-time. And that sucks. Mia?! No clue about her parents because the production was too damn cheap to hire actors to play her parents much like in the Sentai. But, the only difference is that unlike Mia, Mako was like "I got nothing!!" So, she had to do it because she didn't had any other options besides taking cooking classes which was terribly-executed as a bad punchline for Mia's character arc and I still don't like that punchline even to this day. And then there is Emily, who much like Kotoha, also chose to be a ranger because her sister got I'll, but unlike Kotoha's arc, (and yes. I am referencing what Linkara said in his HOPR review on the show.) they treated Emily's arc of replacing her sister as if it was an afterthought in the show. Antonio's arc is similar in Genta, but, it would have been better if this was Spike's character as the Gold Ranger since he would have fit perfectly for Genta's awkward behavior if only they hadn't catered this show to 2-7 year-olds.
Which leads us to Jayden and again....if his character was actually played by an Asian-American actor, then yes. It would have been better. But NOOOOOOO!!!!! They just HAD to cast another f@#$'n generic white American actor for this role because "America!!" So yeah. If anyone wants to make like a short fan-film based off of Power Rangers Samurai in the near-future, and if they want to touch upon the whole familial obligations and responsibilities ideology in adaptation, then I would say make the characters a multi-cultural team of Rangers from across the world or have them be from different ethnic backgrounds like someone with an African background and a South American background, a Eastern European background and an New Zealand background, etc. But for the Red Ranger, I still think he needs to be Japanese-American since he would have to teach these foreign kids on how to adapt into the ways of the samurai while learning of other cultures and customs. Because, I don't think Hollywood would ever get it right, if they ever do make a movie adaptation based off of Power Rangers Samurai. Especially, with all this woke culture and cancel culture b.s. happening in the media, nowadays.

The ethnicities of the Rangers were irrelevant with regards to whether or not Samurai worked (I personally think it did, overall).

Samurai got better, it's a more competent series than Megaforce/Super Megaforce. They picked a very strongly written Sentai to copy/paste from, and the minor original touches they did have were good. I know fans went off comedy duos in PR a long time ago, but for me Bulk and Spike were solid additions and at times they salvaged the earlier stuff.
