Time to expose some identities.
-Isn't this the star of the movie that Nate and Zoey went on their not-date to see? -Oh hey, Zoey's mom! -Oh look, Ben and Betty. This should be... over quick. -Ha. Ha. -Here comes Vargoyle! -Conveniently placed camera! -Finally seeing those Beast Powers in action. -Vargoyle kicking the ranger around is pretty cool. He's even more of a badass now! -Uh oh. -The rangers only have secret identities for this season for episodes like this, and that sucks. -Villain betrayal!
Break.
-Oh look, more of this. -Well, at least it was short. -Okay, Steel wanting to be famous is completely in character and funny. -Hannah Mont- I mean Nikki Rev! -It's the Cotton Candy monster! -Scrozzle's quick lines like "Bossy." are always funny to me. -Gotta love Steel. -"We'd never be able to do our jobs if people knew our identities!" Yes. You would. Several teams did it. -That was a very smooth transition to Sentai footage, so points for that.
Break.
-Ranger time AND Zord time. -And Vargoyle working while they're all distracted. -Here comes the Racerzord. -Damn, that was a kickass finisher. -Virus eliminated. -The memory card is saved. -Zoey taking over.. weird, but okay. -Okay, we're actually going through a whole interview. -I don't feel like a celebrity would be THIS honest. -...That was a short interview. -Well, it ended different than I thought. I'll give it that. -Cliffhanger!
Not the best episode, but the villain and ranger stuff really saved it. I liked that part a lot.

A very solid episode today. I agree they should have had public Id like tf in the future, spd, lsr. Then keeping it secret. If they where just regular kids the whole secret ID makes sense. But when they work for a government entity doesn't make that much sense. But I did like the plot of the episode with the Rangers id reveal and them trying to prevent it. I also liked seeing Zoey mom again. Been to long since we seen Devon or Zoey parents. We had the usual Ben and Betty hijinks but was over quick. The villain stuff really heating up.

'Ranger Reveal' is a fine episode. The ranger's identities are in danger of being revealed, thanks to a running camera. The rangers has to fight a monster while one of the generals plan a way to defeat the rangers in a future fight. What is that plan? You have to watch future episodes to find out.

Well this episode borrowed liberally from Dino Thunder. Recurring reporter character having the chance to expose the rangers identities? check. A celebrity named Nikki everyone loses their minds over? check.
The writing this season really is...not good. Example:
Nate: What is she gonna do? Ravi: We’re about to find out.
like...that is terrible. We know they’re about to find out. We’re all about to find out. That’s how the whole concept of ‘a plot’ works. It really seems like amateur hour up in here.
I honestly am so sick of the red zord. I never want to see it (by itself) again. I hate how they always split up for monster fights and zord fights, because then neither gets enough focus or dramatic gravitas. Like, the monsters seem SO easy to kill this season.
Shoutout to Dave for spending a whole day fixing the memory card just for her to take it and snap it immediately.
I for one vote for Steel being able to eat. Let the robo-man enjoy a burger.

I personally like the way they do the zords and ground battles at the same time. It's nice to have a change up once in a while. Especially after most of Ninja Steel's fights being "Rangers fight monster, rangers destroy monster, monster grows, ranger jump in the megazord for a quick finisher on the giant monster" And it can lead to awesome double finishers like the one from episode 4.
That being said, yeah, it'd be nice to see more than the Racer zord more often. But that's just kind of a down side of Sentai footage.

Yeah that one episode it was kinda cool, but here we are 14 episodes later and they haven’t had a good one since. I don’t think “Battle the monster for ten seconds, Devon leaves to do the zord battle himself, Nate and Steel also leave for some contrived reason, then Ravi and Zoey punch the monster once each and it dies,” is any better than the way Ninja Steel was doing things. They never need to use any kind of finisher attack nor do they ever have to come up with some kind of strategy to outwit them like they do most seasons. The monsters don’t seem to be any more powerful or any better at combat than the tronics.

They use finishers all the time. Maybe not this week, (and even that's kinda arguable) but most of the other times they do.
At the beginning of the season, yeah, the finishers were pretty weak. Like Cycletron's defeat was lame. But most of the time the defeats have been Go-Busters footage where they use finishers. Or original footage for Red Fury Mode destroying Tubatron. Maybe it's because Go-Busters finishers aren't as flashy as some others, but they do use them.

Not once has a monster required all 5 rangers to do a combined attack together. That’s what I mean.
Evox is weaksauce bruh.

In that case, fair enough. I didn't notice, but we really haven't had a full team finisher yet. I don't even remember Go-Busters doing one.
Even if it has to be original footage, it would be cool to see at least once.
