Earlier today, I have been watching the Tokucast's previous rant-o-cast YouTube video on how strong certain characters are supposed to be if all the writers are doing is just simply giving them new weapons and power-up forms and abilities without even showcasing how the characters are supposed to be developed as protagonists and as a fighter or why it's important to work together as a team, etc. And this is related to Power Rangers and its' history of battlizers and red-ranger only power-up forms as we are all aware that this franchise is guilty of giving all the new weapons and fancy-smancy bulky power-up forms to just one members of the team and nobody else. But, this is before the Neo-Saban era and the Hasbro era changed everything.
So upon rethinking about the classic Saban era seasons from In Space to Wild Force with their respective battlizers and the Disney era seasons on how they treat battlizers as if they are just afterthoughts, it got me asking this one question....How Strong are these characters supposed to be, if we're just giving all these bulky armored form to just the red ranger and no-one else? Like, what is the point of even having a team of superheroes? It's like saying that Superman can't defeat Darkseid because he doesn't have the "golden cape of wha'chumicallit" and now he has the ability to finally fight Darkseid because of this mystical super-duper sparkly golden Cape. Or that Captain America needs this Shield of "Whatever" to face Thanos and his Infinity Gauntlet. Now, he can finally lead the Avengers into victory because he this mystical super-duper shield or whatever. It just says that the writers don't care about emphasizing character growth or the team being developed based off their skills or by their unique, creative and interesting attributes and anything else that would make them feel special when they are comfortable with being who they are. But instead, they just want to make up all these excuses just to sell a brand new toy to kids and I get that. However, if you're going on do that in a show that showcasing superheroes working as a team and why they need to work together, then you have to give everyone else this new upgraded armor or whatever. That shows that everybody in the team feels important and that we're seeing grow as a group instead of being individuals unlike the Voltron Paladins from "Voltron: Legendary Defender." Not just one member who the team and nobody else. That's Kamen Rider's job, not Power Rangers or Super Sentai. Power Rangers and Super Sentai are not Kamen Riders. I don't care how many times we had the Sentai and the Riders doing crossover events and movies together, they're still not Kamen Riders.
So, the question I had to ask again, How strong are these characters supposed to be, if we're just giving all these special bulky armored modes and new vehicles to only one member of the team and nobody else?

But it's established in The First Avenger, and in the first Avengers movie, the shield protected Cap from a blow from Thor's hamme. So, it can, in theory, withstand Thanos. So, the power level, is correct. But super heroes power levels are fuzzy. Superman can defeat most of the villians with ease, but the kryptonite can kill him. It depends how the writers can use that. Now, I get your point about power levels about Super Sentai, and Power Rangers. But it's almost as theorical as you can say. In theory, The Rangers have the same power levels in suit form, but again, how they work in team, or if the villian have a "weak spot", like Kimberly shooting an arrow in the neck of Terror Toad, or there's a cavity-themed monster in Kiramager, who's weak spot is in....the cavity (yeah, I know), the episode feels different. Or having that monster in Shinkenger/Samurai (is the same thing in the episode) which attack is insult or attacks on self steem, and the Yellow Ranger is immune because she has low self steem.......it's most the writers' part. The same for power ups. How they introduce this power ups, how they are used, and if there is a handicap in their use. It's all about writing. Battlizers are mostly to introduce more toys. I like more the whole "team power up" but if a writer can introduce a red-only battlizer, using it without hurt the "team work", and being coherent with the series, I'm OK. Dino Thunder used the Triassic mode pretty well. Beast Morphers have a nice power up for the main trio. I hate Dino Charge Red-only Battlizer.

Dino Thunder used the Triassic mode pretty well. Beast Morphers have a nice power up for the main trio. I hate Dino Charge Red-only Battlizer. Well, the "T-Rex Super Charge" form was already seen and used in Kyoryuger, so of course, you'd hate it because the writers decided to give Daigo/Kyoryu Red a f@#$'n power-up form because he's this so-called "special snowflake" when he isn't. But, that's the fault of Rikuu Sanjou, Toei and Bandai in my opinion. Now the Triassic mode was also a power-up form for Ryoga/Aba Red in Abaranger. But, they had already introduced the Abare modes earlier in the show, so it's no big deal. Same goes for Dino Thunder. Once they introduced Super Dino modes, they rendered the Triassic mode and the Triassic battlizer to be forgotten and obsolete. Same goes for the S.P.D. Battlizer once the S.W.A.T. modes and the S.W.A.T. truck. The Deka Red Battlizer was only used in Magiranger vs. Dekaranger for a movie-exclusive form, so that was a one-off deal. But yes, it all depends in the writing. Me?! I prefer team-based power-up forms over red-only power-ups forms any day. Or what we're gonna get later on in season two of Dino Fury where everybody gets shareable power-up forms and the Red Ranger's battlizer is starting to bland in with all the other power-ups so that everyone on the team would feel like they are equal. Of course, I actually had one gripe about Mystic Force's introduction of the Red Dragon Fire Armor. If you remember correctly, Nick wasn't the only one who found the dragon's egg. Everybody found it. Xander, Vida, Maddie and Chip. Plus, they all took turns in raising Fireheart, besides Phineas and Claire. Now, I understand that Nick is the so-called, "chosen one" of the show, but he doesn't care about being the chosen one because he only wanted to find his birth parents. So, him being given the battlizer doesn't seemed to work. What they should have done was this. Either give Nick the task of finding the dragon's egg just by himself in the episode as a test of his character later on in the show, or..... MAKE THE DRAGON FIRE ARMOR A SHAREABLE POWER-UP MODE!!! That would have given the writers and the producers more creative liberties to make everyone feel like they're a part of this team or that everybody is responsible for taking care of Fire Heart and they all share a special bond. Not just Nick. But, that's just me expecting Mystic Force to be more than just 32 episodes and focusing more on the actual characters that were chosen to be Power Rangers than the supporting characters.
