That sucks. I love Jim Carrey and his movies. so does that mean Sonic 3 movie will recast Robotnik?

I watched Sonic 2 yesterday as it's been released internationally.
Overall, it's a load of fun and has some great nods to the games, but boy is it too long. There are some things that could easily be cut out like Rachel's wedding hijinks, the dance-off at the Siberian tavern, the 'Bagel Torture' at the Mean Bean coffee shop etc. There's a big twist with one of the scenes I mentioned but I won't say which one.
The dynamic and chemistry between Sonic and Tails is on-point, and Knuckles is a badass who sometimes take things both too literally and too seriously, a bit of a 'Knuckle-head' so to speak.
Jim Carrey is great as Robotnik, he's actually less manic than he was in the first movie, but that helps him build more of an aura around his menace.
The Master Emerald's location is one big video game level and it's great, there's nods to the Labyrinth Zone, Aquatic Ruins etc, I just wish they had used actual video game music.
As to the question of whether or not Carrey will return, I don't want to go into spoilers, but the film does touch potentially on that.
The mid-credits scene got a big reaction from the audience in how it sets up Sonic 3

I would say since 3rd film was already announced Jim likely do that and then be done. Or they could just move on to some other threat.
