Spooky time.
-Dr. Nate and FrankenSteel? Nice. -I like that the rangers aren't trick-or-treating, they're just getting in the spirit of the holiday by watching a movie. -The second you see a swirling picture like that on the TV, it's always best to turn it off. -Good thing Devon was late. -I can't tell if these accents are good or not. -Wow, starting with the clips before the theme song even hits. -Thanks for reminding me Ben and Betty were afraid of an angry thirteen year old. -Devon's reaction to Zoey trying to destroy the vending machine and getting into character was actually pretty funny. -"Devon Sir of Daniels" Okay, that was funny. -Who gave her a REAL axe? -Theme music. -I'm still sad about Steel not being in the opening.
Break.
-Okay, the axe flying at him only for it to be rubber was funny. -I forgot how awesome the first episode was. -Devon and Ravi kicking the crap out of Blaze will never stop being cool. -Don't remind us of the Beast Bot episode... that was... something else. -The cure for this hypnotism feels too easy. -Steel calling himself hideous is how you know he's hypnotized. -Handy that they had three labcoats on standby. -Of course the brotherly bond is what sets them free. -"You're not hideous at all." "I know that. I'm stunning." He's back! -IT'S THE FORK MONSTER! -...Spiketron? Come on, he's a fork. -Hooray for Go-Busters footage.
Break.
-He even called him silverware. -Please stop saying mantis. He's not a mantis. -Well, this isn't looking good. -Okay Ravi. -Striker Megazord time. -Are they about to play baseball with the monster? -That was... kind of a goofy but still cool finisher. -Real movie time. -What a weird experience to make you love costumes.
I don't think this episode was taking itself too seriously, and it was a lot of fun because of it.

And here we go our yearly Halloween episode. It was a good set up with the villain mind whammy the Rangers so they can still the morph x without them interference. The clip show moments was used well through the episodes. Personally I still wish we drop these clip shows totally and just make a holiday themed regular episode like the old days. Maybe that will change in time. But overall was used good. I just hate we do 2 of them in a year which I feel is a waste.

^i have to agree. These clip shows do seem wasteful. Even though this is one of the better ones if not the best. However why was this episode aired today? There are still 12 days to Halloween. Why not next week or maybe the week after? Maybe even on Halloween at 3 in the window between the kids coming home from school and when they go trick or treating?

well the holiday episodes have usually always aired a week or 2 prior to said holiday. Plus it gives nick more air times they can re-air said episodes on nick, teen nick, etc..... nick channels on or before holiday. But ya i said it many times over last few years its such a waste every season to have 2 clip shows which pretty much recap the exact same things over the 20 episodes of the main season. I get why they do the episodes to save costs and what not. But ultimately why do we need to do 2. I wouldn't mind 1 clip-show episode like we usually had in past series prior to neo saban era. But 2 and 4 in total over 2 years is such a waste of a episode.
Where what costs they do for original footage could be going to the main 20 episodes costs. or like i would like take these 4 episodes costs and funnel that costs to bring back annual crossover/team-ups again. Ie if we under Hasbro after beast morphers season 2 is keeping the 2 year format. To do the annual team-up from past series to current series in 2nd of current series seasons. Though ultimately it would be greater to go back to 1 year format and stick to 32-38 episodes and be how it was prior to neo saban. But if we are to stay 2 years per series format. I would stick to either doing just 1 clip-show episode per each season. To what i said of dropping it in favor of its budget going to main series/team up episodes in 2nd season. Or what would be nicer drop the clip-show period and just make a regular episode holiday theme/or maybe take costs if we cant do team-ups to adapt x series v cinema/summer movie stuff into a episode or 2.

'Hypnotic Halloween' is a Fair episode. One of the main bad guys use a hypnotic spell to cause the rangers to think that they are the characters that they are disguising themselves as. Red was late and learn what happen. He has to undo the spell. Can he do that? You have to watch the episode to find out.

Hooray for delayed Canadian airdates! 🙄
Anyway, I liked the parts with the costumes and alternate identities, that was fun. And hooray for no Ben/Betty. But then once we got to the fight scene it was the same old Beast Morphers lameness. 10 seconds of ground fighting before what felt like 7 hours of zord footage.

Me: "Why didn't they use Roxy?" My brother: "Well, she doesn't have any purpose in this episode." Me: "That's not what I mean. Why didn't Devon talk about Roxy to make Ravi remembers anything?" My brother: "Seriously? You would use someone's trauma to make them remember?" Me: "........ Fair enough."
