Zdarsky's DD run ends with Butch taking his father's name and Electra mourning Matt at a church where she bumps into...Matt, now reborn as a priest. Electra and he part ways, she will remain Daredevil while Matt, who has amnesia, settles into his new life

I see they've brought on some new editors to work on Slott's two Spider-Man books (Superior and Spider-Boy) when they launch in Fall. Good, Dan needs expert supervision.

DC have spoiled the ending of Gotham War and set up a new storyline, 'Mindbomb', in the November solicitations Batman ends Gotham War estranged again from the Bat-Family, with Zur-En-Ah still trying to establish control, which leads to a cataclysmic showdown with The Joker. So after Cates's Thor devolved tragically due to real life circumstances Al Ewing's Immortal Thor kicks off this week seeing Thor taking on Elder Gods called Utgards. It's great & I definitely know this'll turn out better than last time so let's see how far it goes.

Gotham War has started and it's the most embarrassed I've ever been for Chip Zdarsky and Tini Howard. With Howard you kind of expect sh*it straight from the ass, but Zdarsky had build up such good will over at Marvel, but I think I'm well past giving his Batman a chance. Truly dire stuff with everyone acting out of character. Selina is unnecessarily agro and seems to contradict the real reasons she didn't marry Bruce. Oh, and of course Selina's plan goes wrong as soon as the issue ends with someone getting killed, that alone should end the story right here and now with everyone in-character.

Meanwhile over in Superman books this week Martian Manhunter takes Supergirl to Hell to fight Doomsday (I must've missed something as to why Doomsday's in hell). Also Bloodwynd is back & I'm kinda happy about that.

Marvel Age#1000 (Stegman's Spider-Man story)
A quick and decent short where Peter fights The Lizard while taking text messages and phone calls from MJ reminding him he's late for sunday dinner with her, Aunt May, Jonah, Robbie, Randy and...Marla! The story is either a flashback or takes place in neutral continuity. Jameson tells Robbie they'll sell lots of papers about the Lizard tomorrow so that means Jonah still works for the Bugle here. Peter is only five minutes late to the party and MJ gives him her old phone as she upgraded. Everyone forgives Peter for being late and he calls them the best supporting cast a man can have
BTW, Don't you just love it when Tom Breovoort says "we hated that DC blinked with Superman's marriage and won't make the same mistake" and then Slott yesterday on CBR with "we'll totally bring the marriage back to 616 if you're nice to us and support more AU books with it"?

Hmm...the Gotham War happened in Helena's timeline as well...that means Bruce and Selina worked things out eventually. That might still stand even if Helena's erased the future (might even still align with King's future)

Just Because Helena exist as some paradox doesn't mean it's somehow align itself with the weird Tom King book nobody follows up on. I believe Bruce & Selina will get back together only for another tizzy for their conflicting beliefs to happen & they break up because Bat Editorial is stuck in a loop. |
