So, Jonathan Entwistle is still in "Kevin Feige-like" position (which I don't trust completely, but we'll see), but the new movie is gonna be Netflix-exclusive. I guess the whole "in theaters" is not viable, but I see this is better. Not to think too much in box office and stuff. I hope they left untouched the TV universe, and they do another thing with the movie and "new series". More things is better.....

Ya it's still not totally clear what is going on. Are we starting a new universe Ala 2017, 95 film was and the Netflix stuff after season 2 of fury is in this new universe. Or is that film going to be it's own thing. While what ever new shows still be tied to the prime pr universe/dc/rpm universes and all.

The most interesting thing about this to me is how they said this new universe will contain “some” kids programming.
So like…they’re working on some adult programming then? 👀

Well I think they going to take it like transformers. Where there been total kiddy shows. Then stuff for the older kids/teen market. And the film's which was gear to adults. So maybe there be two different shows one gear for the older fans and not mature like that adult fan thing. And then maybe if they do a cartoon that be gear for the 2 to 7 market. And so it cover all the bases.

TokuChris livestream reveals a few things on what's to come for the next phase of Power Rangers, in comics and TV
1. Boom Studios are only allowed to use Sentai teams that have appeared in Super Megaforce.
2. Phantom Ranger's comic origin is the official word on the character from now on per Hasbro.
3. There's three different avenues for animation development, but no decisions yet on which one to pursue, as it concerns which styles audiences would find appealing
4. People he's talked to within Netflix or at best the industry outside of it have said the next adaptation is 'bare bones', with an all-New Zealand cast and minimal original footage shot. Post production may move to Los Angeles.
5. Key production staff have apparently moved out of New Zealand now
6. Netflix have signed the same deal as Nick, and they aren't throwing money at the product.

This should be the design used for the MMPR reboot movie! Saw this on Facebook on ASJ's page...

The gist of it is they say it’s a hard reboot. It’s not the MMPR characters again. Not connected to any former iteration of PR. And sounds like a film followed by a series all about the same team.
Personally I think it’d be pretty lame if there’s absolutely no connection. You’d think do *something* to please the core fans and try and hook the casuals.

For over a year, I've read articles, tweets, fake news, real news, speculations and official statements about this endeavor, and no matter how many of it I read, no matter what, Im am completely against this idea of a "Power Rangers Cinematic Universe", and now with it being on Netflix of all places, it reaffirms my stance. Sorry, but I can not and will not support this because I truly believe this is a bad idea, an unnecessary idea, and an unmitigated disaster just waiting to happen.
P.S. My name is Tatsuranger, new here obviously and I hope we can get along and not have a problem with other people's opinions on things.

I asked Simon bennett on Twitter of the comics were canon to the show and this is what he said. "Anyone familiar with both the comics and the TV show will know that there are huge differences in lore between the two formats." So I take that ad a no

Understand that the main line of comics are set in it's own dimension due to it being a modern take of the show starting in the first season considering the Rangers were shown to have smart phones on them. If anything, some of the graphic novels like Soul of the Dragon for example would be the closest to anything Boom related be within the same universe as the main TV one.
