Yeah! It was revealed while she fought Ares that Diana's dad is Zeus! God of the Wind & Lightning. Hence why Diana said "Goodbye, brother" before she destroyed Ares. They're going with magically mutated Cheetah. Not debutant in a catsuit. Since WW84's been delayed and pushed back so many times this year, they're releasing the movie on CHristmas in theatres AND on HBO Max. variety.com/2020/film/news/wonder-woman-1984-hbo-max-release-1234804411/I think it's great because my local theatre's still closed and most bigger ones around a four county radius are closed down. I'll be glad to finally get to see it. |

Interesting they doing dual theaters and HBO max. Counting that a lot of theaters are still closed. I hope I can see it in theater in my area.

Man, this movie sucked. Glad I watched Disney's Soul on Christmas Day instead. That had problems too, but was much more engaging and didn't insult the characters or it's audience. Diana just looks pretty pathetic throughout the picture, demeaned at childhood and diminished as an adult, Steve doesn't even get to see her back at full strength after he convinces her to renounce their wish. Gadot barely emotes and only does so when she has her last moments with Steve. The Cheetah fight is very brief and most of it is in the trailers. Pascal chews up the scenery in a highly camp Trump impersonation for Max Lord. There is a lazy rehash of a score from Batman v Superman towards the end. Some of the action sequences are good, nothing rises to quite the heights of the flashback to Diana competing in the big race at the start though, would love to see more of that. This film really didn't need to exist. There were no stakes whatsoever. Everyone lives. Max learns his lesson, complete with an annoying child tacked on to his backstory. It's also indicated Diana doesn't truly 'move on' from Steve, she just wishes the guy who's body he possessed a happy holiday. It's also revealed at the end to be a Christmas movie...and that blatantly tells you right there that there was a reshoot knowing the film would be released at that point this year]] Lines up more with Joss Whedon's JL in tone, humour, and presentation. Even without the pandemic, this would have struggled. The best thing about the film is that it isn't too 'woke', why do I say this? just finished watching the film. I thought it was ok. Not as good as the first one was. But not totally bad either. Yes the writing and the plot with the dream stone was weak. But i thought max lord was done well and pedro did well in the role. I didnt like that steve spirit or what not took over that other dude body. He should have been given his own body. The fights i thought was alright. Overall decent film but not the best out of dc. But that dc for you.
