^I already acknowledged that Firass Dirani is of Lebanese origin, and I know darn well where Lebanon is. The actor's nationality may be of a country in Asia, but the character Nick is Caucasian, like his biological parents.

^ That's the same to say Kevin Kleinberg (the actor for Trip) from Time Force has a caucasian name, and he looks Asian (and the character is an alien). As far as I know, the actor is American, from German and Filipino descent. So, it doesn't matter what the name is. The representation matter. Power Rangers do what others preach. It had diversity, in spades. The movie even had an LGBT/Queer hero. It's even before the MCU and the DCU. So that what it matters.

^I wasn't saying anything about names though. I was making the point that just because the actor is of one ethnicity, it doesn't mean the character is also of that ethnicity.

Fellas I think we may have some decent acting. A few of the rangers actually got other shows under their belts. I also seen that One of the actors is from LA. So does that mean they are filming back in LA?? During the preview it said Allspark which is the studio in LA. Im kinda excited about the season.

I'm slightly concerned about how upset some people seem to get over perceptions of racial diversity in this kids show. In no way am I casting aspersions on anyone's rights to representation, but sometimes I find this fandom gets quite argumentative on the issue. The series is set in America, of course there will be a lot of Americans of all types, that is where Americans tend to live. After a generation or two, sometimes much less, people will begin to identify with the country they live in regardless of their previous background. I don't run around telling everyone what my parents or grandparents were, I am Australian. 'American' or 'Australian' is a referral to the country you live. There are many, many cultural groups included in any country.
Back to the show, there are lots of characters of differing ethnicity. Many of the racial backgrounds of characters are never even mentioned at all, just implied from the actor themselves, or the other actors mentioned as family members, even the show itself sometimes has actors playing different racial stereotypes altogether. (Z from SPD for example.) Notice I said 'racial stereotypes'. Until people realise that no-one is ever just one type of anything, these arguments will continue going around in circles. Far more important is the persons view of themselves. Everyone is pure human, beyond that there are endless possibilities.

While I would love it if they started filming in the states again, I doubt it being the case. I think it stated on the call sheet for the auditions that they be filming in New Zealand still. I think that's just there due to Hasbro owning the company.

Ya fufer they are not filming back in the states for bm. We already knew from other casting stuff and location stuff they are staying in nz for bm filming. As to after bm would they return to the states or even canada. We have no clue. For all we know hasbro could want to stay in shop in nz. As there is crew and locations all locked in. Then having to start from scratch and develop a new production crew and get new filming location and see what places would have better tax breaks for filming.

(Z from SPD for example.) Strange thing is, they hired Monica May to play Z thinking she was Hispanic, and she'd make it known to them that she isn't after they had already shot some episodes.

I don't see why folks are getting bent over ethnicity of a actor or character they play. When the whole thing is diversity has always been a big part of the show from the start. We have always had a good mix of race of actors and characters. we should be happy the show has been progressive in this. Where as other shows haven't.

Can we please stop talking about ethnicities before the series even airs?!? Let's talk about the villains and the potential names for the monsters!

Exactly... It's going to be a fun team to watch regardless...
Looks like the best thing we've had in years, and hopefully the script and the acting won't disappoint.

I really dont see the problem with ethnicities... This is a ranger tradition... why would someone say something now? Cause we got a black red ranger again... (Nothing new) Turbo and SPD. I actually had a chance to check out their instagram pages. They seem pretty cool. Kinda makes you more interested in the series. But I think its gonna be a good series. The zords look dope and hopefully the acting will be better and he (red ranger) will be better than Brody!!!

I hope that they keep the J character in the show. It's about time that we got the first ever robot ranger on the show that does not look like his human original at all.
Also, I hope that they end up having the Rangers use their individual Zords in all of their forms instead of just going straight to Megazord mode.
