Surf's up, I guess?
-Painfully stereotypical fisherman. -How the hell did Victor get so many trophies, yet he can't get one more? -At least we're seeing more ranger parents as of recent seasons. -Hey! They taught kids something subtly! -Still loving the theme song. -Sarah's mom is back! ...Out of nowhere. -Sarah's reaction to her mom calling Hayley's dad handsome was priceless. -Why do they care, honestly? Let them go on a date, the most that could happen would you two become step sisters. -But why do you want the date to go badly? -"Close your eyes and open your mouth" are words you don't usually say on a first date. -Victor and Monty are absent for most of this episode. I'm perfectly fine with that! -Good thing they found all those exact pieces.
Break.
-Oh look! Badonna is about as useful as Ripcon. -Hayley got kind of a badass line! -A cool battle scene without a bunch of talking! We need more of those. -Should've "NINJA BLASTED" it. -Yeah, it's almost like screwing over your parents was a bad idea. -DAMN IT. There they are. -And Victor is gonna drown, probably. -Again, it's almost like screwing over your parents for your own selfish needs was a bad idea. -Mick nailing it with the mentoring! -Nice use of the rangers powers. -10/10 Parents not recognizing the voices of your own children. -Am I the only one who doesn't get why it's so strange? -GEE I WONDER IF IT'S GONNA BE A NEW ZORD
Break.
-STOP TALKING AND PUSH BUTTONS -I'm SO glad that during the fighting in this episode, there's so much less talking that usual. -So Levi is still doing the selfie thing. I totally forgot about that. -As a surprise to no one, the thing is a zord. -To be completely fair, the surfer zord is awesome. -Levi taking control of the zord is a nice change from Brody using the new zords. -At least they kept the transforming brief this time instead of taking so long. -Yeah, let's talk-y more do-y -THAT COCKPIT IS LAZY. -"Totally tubular" GOD. -So the "Samurai" theme we've been hearing this whole time is just a remix of Go Go Power Rangers and not actually the Samurai theme song. -Victor and Monty. Oh joy. More of them.

A very solid episode today and debut of the surf zord. It was fun seeing Haley and Sarah parents. And was fun to see them on a date. And the whole thing with Sarah and Haley not wanting there parents worked well. Victor and Monty was thankfully used very little. Abs I was surprised how little of sentai footage was in the episode.

Pretty good episode. Cool to have a new Zord.
The Sarah and Hayley plotline was ok and their parents were fun.

Didn't like how Mick tried to make what happen with Hayley's and Sarah's parents another generic teamwork message when it's really about two lonely souls finding love again and to have their happiness ruined because their kids were being selfish.

Okay, I haven't liked any of the first 3 episodes so far, but I liked this one. As far as I can remember, I don't think we've ever seen ranger parents hit on each other before. I thought that was funny and cute. I also appreciate that there was way less Victor and Monty. If you're gonna put them in every episode (and I don't think they need to be), this is how much screen time they should have in every episode. Just 3 little bits. That being said, I thought they were funny in this episode. I even liked the ending. "Run, Monty Run. He's got a sword." I thought that was funny.
My only main problem with this episode was that Hayley and Sarah were way too happy about screwing up their parents' date. Sarah's mom ate a grasshopper, and Hayley's dad was about to throw up, and they're laughing about it like it's funny. I know characters need flaws, but I found that to be too mean and out of character for them. Aside from that, I liked this episode. I'm giving it a 3/5.

Okay off rip. Hayleys dad smiles too much Intro.... music still aint old to me yet Watching that intro, I tried to picture the new logo. Didnt work Hi Sarah mom Okay Hayleys dad!!! You still smile too much Why would Sarah, and Hayley CB their date So the GW plaque is the reason the machine wont work? Commercial.... Pretty good so far. I like the hook up story.
Ummm wasnt yall suppose to check on your parents? Good battle. “Time to wave goodbye”.... nice one Super Doper Hookey Wookey.... No Couldnt they just admit they messed up and asked them to work together That was a horrible spot for a commerical Still a good episode though
Why does that monster remind me of Zeo?? No say cheeseburger.... Epic bomb!! Dope he actually jumped on the zord. I miss that. So who zord is that anyway?? So how Mick create a new star but look surprised when the star shot out?? Sub surfer Zord?? Terrible name Sub surfer ninja megazord?? Even worse Am I the only one just hearing this GO GO Power Rangers mix. I know this cant be the first time they have played this. Okay the Victor and Monty thing was just corny What did that song say. You might (......) Power Rangers??
Okay in all this was another good episode. I did not see the date thing coming. That caught my interest. The Sub Surfer zord was kinda dope. I still hate how new zords just fall out the sky. I will get over that. Imma give this episode a 4.2 I think I enjoyed it more than last weeks episode. Lets see what the next episode brings

The music comment of something different was nice. I did like a bit of change up even though it was a new remix of go go theme.

Didn't like how Mick tried to make what happen with Hayley's and Sarah's parents another generic teamwork message when it's really about two lonely souls finding love again and to have their happiness ruined because their kids were being selfish. I know. But you gotta admit....Seeing Mick pointing out how utterly hypocritical the Ninja Steel rangers are in this series is the biggest highlight of the show. Now onto the rest of the episode. I actually thought it was pretty good. But, I am just shocked to actually see some really bizarre ninja magic being displayed in this episode when the Zord star turned Mr. Foster's invention into the actual Submarine Surf Zord. Like why didn't we see that happened in the second episode of Ninja Steel when they introduced the zords for the first time?! What the Hell, Saban?!

'Making Waves' is a good episode. The parents working together to fix a drone caused them to fall for each others. The kids not wanting their parents to get together make them ruin their first date. When they learn that the world need these two to work together, they went to try to get them working together. The parents worked together to fix the drone, which later became a zord. It might be a good episode, but it's not great. Let's hope that future episodes will be better.

It was good. The show can be funny when it puts some effort into it.
It's always a plus when we throw the parents in for an extra boost because the show had been so devoid of for years. In a way, Power Rangers tapped into a slightly older crowd with Hayley and Sarah and the whole "our parents dating is weird". Oh by the way, same actress that played Kendall's grandmother, no?
Bottom line: The power of teamwork and true friendship helped save the day. Working against the tide isn't exactly a winning result.

No this isn't the same actress who played Kendall grandma. That was a different actress named Ilona Rodgers.
