I didn't find a thread for this film here.
Anyways, I'm sure you guys probably heard about the OG Colossus, Daniel Cudmore being back in possibly a new role in X-Men: Dark Phoenix. But this series of tweets seems to suggest he might be reprising his Colossus role in this film instead.
I think this makes sense since Magik is Colossus's sister and I would assume this film is taking place more toward the "future" timeline. Maybe Peter is trying to rescue his sis during this movie?

Hmm interesting he would be back as time placement for this film I don't know if been mentioned as to the team xmen time eras. Plus the whole actor change for Deadpool films.

just watched the trailer. It looks interesting. But I don't know how I feel putting these mutants in a horror film setting. Really doesn't make sense.

Alright, that trailer sold me. I'm excited to see this now. And honestly, putting the New Mutants in a horror setting works. THey've been toying with new genres for X-Men movies lately with Logan being more Western-styled and Deadpool being, well, Deadpool. I'm excited to see where this is going to go.

I had my doubts on the Daniel cudmore runor. Would have been nice. But without us knowing what year frame this one set along with the different colossus in deadpool.

I still think this one pretty much has to be in the "future" since the New Mutants are in essence the X-Men 2.0. They're the next class of students after the X-Men were all grown up.

Some new reports say the move is due to when testing of film happened it scored OK but not great. And fox wants to up the horror factor of the film.
Though here the other question now that this film is going to get some more filming done. And for example gambit loosing another director. If the Disney deal is finalized quicker vs longer. Will new mutants, gambit even still happen. As dark phoenix and Deadpool are pretty set and ready for there releases. Plus the whole thing is Disney once deal done going to keep x films off in there own bubble universe. Or just clean slate x line into Mc save for deadpool... so many questions to ponder now.

I doubt that will happen dark. The film is still going to be released same as dark phoenix. Once deal is set I doubt marvel would just want to have random movie not tied to there series. Again even if deal is finalized in 2019. We still likely won't see characters or elements of ff and xmen to 2020 mcu films. Plus xbrand and ff brand are more then likely going to be totally rebooted to fit story mcu wants. Then shoehorn in xmen whacked timeline.
