I haven't seen the movie yet, but I hope that it will have a sequel, if only to introduce the reboot version of Tommy Oliver, the Green Ranger.

Well its certainly not looking likely that their will be a sequel thats for sure. Now that the director is off to do another project and still no sign of a sequel or that.

Just because they haven't revealed it yet, doesn't make it unlikely. They can also get a new director.

Just because they haven't revealed it yet, doesn't make it unlikely. They can also get a new director. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm that is a fair point. Maybe its the fact the reboot left me so unhappy to say the least. It felt embarrased to be a power Rangers film honestly. Also all the elements they left out of didn't bother to explain. A fellow i was chatting with online put it best ((I think a big problem was assuming that they could win over a new "generation of fans". Expecting people to actually go out and spend money on a Power Rangers movie when in reality, they've done nothing to convince people to go see it. See, the way I look at, it's not 1993 anymore. Back then, there were no current live-action versions of superheroes on TV. Spider-Man, Batman, Justice League...they were all animated. Power Rangers was really the only live-action team of heroes on TV at the time. That's why the show became a hit, there was no competition. Well, fast-forward to today where you can't go one second without being bombarded with some form of superhero. Movies, TV...it's everywhere. Not to mention all the other franchises grasping for dollars (Star Wars, Transformers etc.). There's just no room for Power Rangers to make headway. At least, not in the traditional ways. As far as the movie goes, they tried too hard to be different and left out things that in my opinion, were core elements of the series. Would it have killed them to actually SUMMON the Zords or use a morpher? I understand that in 2017, we can't have the "goody-goody" teens like in the original. But, did they have to do a complete 360 and make them so "edgy"? Why not meet in the middle? I don't believe for one minute that these teens care about saving the city. Especially when you have Kimberly saying "Yeah, let's bail and forget this place". Meanwhile, the stuff that they do change contradicts the movie's own logic. If those Power Coins can save those kids from being hit by a train, heal their wounds AND unconsciously teleport them to their respective homes....why can't Rita's coin pull her out of a lake? Theoretically, it's just as powerful. Going by that logic, the movie should've been 10 minutes long. Zordon sends down the meteor, knocks Rita into a lake, the coin pulls her out and she gets the crystal. The end..."Go, Go Power Rangers". Now, one could argue that it was because her staff was broken, but the other coins didn't need anything special to work? It would've made more sense if they did, something like idk.....a morpher?? Personally, I think that if Saban really wants to make a profit, he should adopt Marvel's philosophy and stay true to the core fanbase. Make something for the fans, first and foremost.)) Obviously these are my own issues with the film. I am of course happy many of you enjoyed it and thats great and I hope you don't feel like I am attacking you, because I am not. I respect where your coming from and hope no ill will is taken from my this rant.

Ya just cause there no news still. Doesn't automatically mean a sequel couldn't happen. As for director we likely end up getting a new director I would bet.

Hopefully the sequel won't be anything like this movie was... It was pretty boring and not that great of a movie

I liked it, but it didn't know what type of audience it wanted.

Hmmm more a friends thoughts on the movie that i really felt raised some great issues with the film that i had.
The way I look at it is, Saban wants a cinematic universe (who doesn't, right?) but the thing he fails to realize is he already has one....the last 25 years of the franchise. The work has been done. Now's the time to capitalize on that through the fans who he does have. Like I said, we're the one's buying toys...he should be appealing to the demographic. But it's almost like we're an after though. As if just because the show is on Nickelodeon, only kid's are watching. Now, I'm sure some kid's do watch the show...but the show needs to try and appeal to everyone. Look at Star Wars Rebels, it's a "kids show" but because of the subject and maturity-level, more adults watch it than kids.
Lol no, you're not alone on the design of the suits. I'm not really a fan of them. In fact, I think that if the movie wanted to rip-off any Marvel character, it should've been Black Panther from Civil War. When I saw that movie, I said to myself "Holy crap! He's basically a Power Ranger!" That style of suit would've been the perfect way to adapt the suits into today's standards while putting an end to the whole "spandex issues".

I forgot to come to this thread after I have watched the movie a couple weeks ago. That movie was pretty good, not bad.

Hasn't the end of this chapter begun before this point?
