Two new short stories from Paul Cornell which serve as follow-ups to "Human Nature/Family of Blood" and explains what happened next to Daughter-Of-Mine, who the Tenth Doctor trapped in a miror
The first story includes the character of Benny Summerfield, the Seventh Doctor's companion from the New Adventures novels, who featured in the novel version of "Human Nature"
The second story features Jodie's Doctor visiting Daughter-Of-Mine and finally freeing her from the mirror

A lot of people LOVE Jodie as the Doctor! I think Jodie's great! I've seen many female cosplayers dressed as her at conventions! Even one I have mutual friends with is often posting pics of herself as her!

^Figures Jodie's doctor is still a colossal fuck up in every sense of the phrase I have no issue with Jodie, just the execution of some of the stories and concepts, that said, the hate campaign against her and the show is really too much and is just bringing out the worst in people. While they may have had a point when they started, they honestly can't find any positives in Jodie at all and will attack her for any reason. I find that wrong and misguided. Not to absolve Jodie's era of anything, but there were problematic stories during the era of male Doctors that did just as badly if not worse than what we've gotten with Jodie so far.

I agree there in think Jodi been a solid doctor. Burnie you zarius some if the scripts haven't been the best. But ya the hate really got to stop. It's no different then any thing else no one is ever going to be liked fromm every one. And look in the case of modern doctors why cry about it. As showrunner/doctor usually changes every 3 to 4 years/series. So if you don't like this one maybe the next you will. For me I still didn't expect 13th to be female after we just at the time had female master. So I felt it was still to soon to do it to the doc. I expected a non white male as doctor before female.

The problem of course is that the show faces a big lose/lose situation when there is a new showrunner. Those predjudiced against Jodie will want that showrunner to strike Jodie or Jo from the record as Doctors and to retcon the Timeless Child twists, maybe even undo the latest destruction of Gallifrey...those fans have collectively rejected the notion that there have been other Doctors before William Hartnell, saying it's an affront to canon (they forget virtually every layer added to the show's mythology was hated at one point or another, then fully accepted with the generation that succeeded them) If the next showrunner undoes the twists, it means we wasted several series on something that was never going to matter

Yeah but it really is up to BBC and said shoe runner on what they want or not want in cannon. No different for example when Disney bought Lucasfilm and decided to make expanded universe non cannon. But comic, TV and film guys can take elements from those non cannon stuff and make it part of new cannon stuff. Hell I am sure there is plenty of who stuff that been cannon and not cannon over the years.

It’s not really a retcon since their is evidence in the Doctor Who episode Brain of Morbius.

It’s not really a retcon since their is evidence in the Doctor Who episode Brain of Morbius. Fans for years insisted those faces were Morbius' previous incarnations

Keep in mind I said Jodie’s doctor Implying her character not the actress. Although if I ever get my hand on Chibnall heaven help him That's still my entire point, even if you aren't attacking Jodie, you're wishing physical harm on a showrunner for introducing a radical new approach to the programme, forgetting that the show is not new to radical approaches, the same thing many producers and script editors have done over the years. The mythology of Doctor Who as it stood for decades was simply not there when the programme began in the sixties, it was retroactively invented and made up as it went along to keep the programme fresh and to keep it going. Any limitations put on it were done at the time for dramatic effect, but to keep the show thriving, all those limitations need to be cut back. I'm not saying this is a good idea, as it removes all stakes, but it's clear the BBC have no intention of cancelling it despite record-low ratings, thus they're looking for ways to reinvent it so it can last forever, and go back and forth if at all possible. if they feel they can't continue the show as something that can go forward, the timeless child twist allows them to go back and develop unexplored earlier Doctors.

zarius that last part was just hot air. I’d never harm anyone unless they where physically attacking me. Besides I don’t have to do anything. Since Jodie has taken over as the doctor almost 4 million people inEngland have cancelled their BBC TV License and PM Boris Johnson has said once the Corona Virus is dealt with he plans to remove the BBC’s public funding. So I’m just going to sit back and watch as Disney, Lucasfilm, viacomcbs and BBC burn to the ground

Yeah, I won't deny Jodie's era has been a colossal failure, I just wish people would give the timeless child stuff a chance to breath a little

The one plus I say about this is it gives the producers more leeway on regens now. If they want as the timeless child had unlimited regens. Vs in the past we had the set limit.
