Hmm I expected Ryan to be leaving as actor was cast in an another show. Didn't expect graham to go too. As I personally like those 2 more then yaz. Well curious to see then what they do with companions next season.

It's astounding the negativity at this discussion board! People are allowed to be dissatisfied with things. I'm not too concerned about the canon violations, frankly I always wondered what took them so long to toss it out, especially if you know your stuff about the Cartmel Masterplan and the contradictory expanded media like the comics and audios (the Cyber-Lords stuff is lifted wholesale from a comic book), however, for some historians and traditionalists, messing with what the show had established on-screen is just not on, they're very protective of the programme and things making sense within it. I feel pretty bad for them as they're watching the whole paradigm begin to shift and the history books, the mediums etc, will all have to readjust to a new normal. Nothing makes sense again just as it was starting to. If some are upset about that, they are perfectly within their rights to complain, it doesn't make them any lesser a person or a fan. As for "OK Boomer" that has got to be the most creatively bankrupt thing anyone has ever said on the internet...usually comes from millenials/zoomers who ldon't even know half the people they say it to are Gen X. |

That's a very good point...it'd be very easy to still retcon all this tragic backstory as being what influenced The Master more than The Doctor, the trauma of being misued and manipulated, which he already had a basis in from what we know of his current past (the drums), this would prove to be one trauma too many and it sent him over the edge, enough to detonate a nuke on Gallifrey. |
