Sitting in the strategy room, Commander Turner was looking at video footage of the Rangers storming the DRAGO factory. He was dissecting the data like a football coach before a game. As he worked, Amy walked into the office with her trusted dog and best boi, Murph in tow.
"Looks like someone's hard at work." Amy sat at the large conference table with Murph approaching Brooklyn, only going away after Uncle gave him some pats.
"They did better than I imagined, given that most of them are untrained." Brooklyn admitted.
"Well between the threat of boom time and finding out about DRAGO were good motivation. Are you sure this was a good idea?" Amy asked with a small hint of regret creeping on her face.
"It had to be done. If we want any shot against DRAGO, we have to weaken his forces as much as we can." Brooklyn responded. "Paul made his choice when he betrayed his country. If he survives, he'll get over it. As for the group, they still have plenty of room to grow. Lenny is too damn angry and doesn't even count whatever hate he has towards us. The girls are sloppy but that's to be expected. Wayne needs to grow a pair and stop fighting scared. Trying to constantly protect him is going to get someone killed. Paul's fighting is good but if he doesn't get over the fact that we did what he had to, it's only going to poison the others." Brooklyn paused while pausing the footage.
"So what now? Do we bring them in for training?" Amy asked.
"No. They'll never take to it, especially if I'm doing it. For now, we stay the course and hope this doesn't blow up in our faces." Brooklyn responded. Amy got up and as she was leaving, Brooklyn had another thought. "How are you holding up?"
"Fine. I guess."
"I know it's rough, but I'm sure he'll be back soon."
"Yeah." Amy sighed. "It would be nice if he could at least make contact so I know he's okay."
"No argument there. If he does..."
"I'll let you know." Amy nodded before taking her leave.
For Brooklyn, he hoped this didn't blow up in his face, especially since he knew exactly where Joey was and has been lying to his long time friend for months.
