Tifa nodded, looking at Cole, Ken, and Jun. "Who are you three?"
"Ken Kingsford, but you can call me King. I'm also hte head of SPD," Ken said.
"And he's also very full of himself," Cole said iwht a grin. "I'm Cole Coleman, head of Tommorow Technologies."
"That's right. Cole is my husband and Ken is my... brother-in-law." Olivier Coleman adds, trying her best not to insult Ken in a timely manner.

Tifa raised an eyebrow. "Gonna assume there ain't no love in your heart for the so-called "King", then," she said.
"Got you pegged, don't she?" Cole asked wtih a grin, watching Ken roll his eyes and start to sulk again.
"Alright, the fuck do you all want with me?" Tifa asked, looking around and seeing Kida and Jax. "And who are you?"
"Kida Frost, and this is Jackson "Jax" Ratcliffe. We're two of the three minds behind the Ranger Keys and the tech that was used to save your butt," Kida said. "We're also former Rangers. Red Dino Steel and Blue Crystal Machine. Derek and AMara were Red and Pink Crystal Machine, and Olivier served before too." Kida sighed, taking the Red Shift Steel Key into her hand.
"What we want, Ms. Thorston, is for you to join our team," Kida said. "See, we lost our Red Ranger a year ago, Moserah Garin, in the battle with the Tok'Ra Empire. The Universal Morphing Grid has been searching for a new Red Ranger with the new threat of hte Machine Empire, the bots that trashed the match today. When we saw you in the ring, the Grid connected and paired the Key to you."
Tifa raised an eyebrow. "Seriously? You want me as Red Ranger?"

Jun smiles at Tifa, "Why not? I mean you kicked ass out there. Who doesn't want someone with fists of steel?" he said, his tone being the warmest.

Cole walked up to Tifa and extended his hand "it's wonderful to meet you Tifa the Green Ranger said"I hope we get along" Cole said smiling
Ken however was less than cordial "Are we absolutely sure she's the right choice?" The self proclaimed King asked

Tifa looked at Cole. "I don't shake hands," she said, tucking her hands in her pockets.
"Unfortunatelty, the Grid doesn't make mistakes. Otherwise your ass would have been replaced, Ken," Kida said. "The Grid doesn't choose willy-nilly and it doesn't make mistakes."
Tifa shook her head. "What if I dont' want it?"
"Too bad. Your stuck," Kida said. "Unless the Grid chooses someone different or you die."

"She's right about that part." Derek chimed in. "I tried my damndest to say no, but the Grid isn't really big on feelings." The CEO shrugged.

Now it was Cole's turn to sulk as Tifa didn't return his handshake
"Look I get it it's not ideal for us either but clearly the grid sees something in you that the rest of the world is lacking and it's not fair but like DC said the grid doesn't care about feelings and personal choice I don't want this either but I fight to defend whats left of my family and my city and I know what it's like to sacrifice something for a greater good "to accentuate his point Ken took off his jacket and allowed Tifa to see his prosthetic left arm" I lost my arm in an explosion that cost me the lives of 3 good friends and I lost my father in the war with the Tok'ra trust me there's a part of me that wants to tell the grid to go fuck itself but I'm still fighting because if I don't my family dies and I can't allow that" Ken said

Tifa looked at Ken and raised an eyebrow. "Okay. And? Honestly, I've known you for three minutes and you genuinely seem like a prick, so ask my why I should care about your arm or your family." The fighter's nature was starting to be understood, and if anyone hoped to get through to her, it would have to be fast. "He's also negating the fact that his father died because Ken tried to be a hero and not a team player and nearly got himself killed," Jax said, folding his arms. It wasn't any secret that the former Blue Ranger had no love in his heart for his successor in color, and he wanted the newly chosen Red Ranger to understand everything. Amara sighed, knowing this was going nowhere as long as Tifa didn't get the picture. "Tifa. I'm gonna assume you're named after the badass in Final Fantasy VII, easily one of the best fighters of all time, right?" Tifa looked at Amara and nodded softly. "Yeah...my mom named me that. Said "Tifa's a strong name for a strong girl." And always showed me the game. Never got into it, but I did have costumes for like five Halloweens straight," she said. "Why?" "If you don't help us, the bots that attacked today will hurt more people. They'll kill more people. Just like Shinra did to Midgar. They need you, just like Cloud and Barrett needed their Tifa," Amara said. The prize fighter sighed, seeing a picture hanging on the wall beside the computer. She walked over, tilting her head softly. "Who's this?" she asked. Amara walked over, sighing softly. "That is Moserah Garin, or Moze. Our last Red Ranger. She died....a year ago, fighting Emperor Dhazan at the finale of the last Tok'ra War. She gave her life to save the world," she said. "And if she was here, she'd want someone equally as strong as her to take her place." She bit her lip softly. "Her mom died in one battle. The timeline was altered on an order she gave, saving hundreds of Rangers in the first war with the Tok'ra, but the consquences of it...she couldn't see all of them. While our team mostly survived, and Kida's wife and their teams did, in changing things, the Empire killed her mom, Katarina, during a battle. But her mother taught her that strength doesn't just come from herself. It comes from leaning on those that can help and the power that you share." Tifa sighed, clenching her hands. "Fine. But the moment the bots are defeated for good, I'm done." "All we can ask for is the help," Kida said, handing the Key and Caller to Tifa. "In the field, watch Olivier and the others for how to morph, how to use your powers. They'll help you." |

Derek folded his arms, fighting back a smile. Usually it was him weaving together the video game references applying them to real life situations, but to see Amara do it made him proud.
"Don't worry. We'll make sure to ease you in as best we can...just try not emulate Ken. We can barely deal with one of those." The Silver Ranger laughed.

Ken shot Kida and Jax a look as he put his blue motorcycle jacket back on "I was getting to all that I just didn't want to overwhelm her with timelines and stuff I can barely keep the stuff straight and that's with Cole's help" Ken said
"we appreciate it truly we can't promise you another shot at the boxing championship but between me and Derek we have more money than you can shake a whole forest at " Cole said hoping to appeal to the boxer's love of prize fight money

"Dude!" Derek shook his head. "We don't buy teammates. But because we're a team, if you need something, we're here to help." The Silver Ranger said to Tifa, trying to put a more presentable foot forward.

Olivier suppresses the urge to roll her eyes as she looks at Tifa again. “Not going to lie, I think we’ll get along just fine.” She says. “I will say this, lately we’ve been dealing with discoordination among the team. The obvious ones tend to start all this.” She explains, referring to Ken mostly. “With your help, the dysfunction will lessen right away."

"If you think fighting's fun, you're gonna love this. It's gonna take a lot of work though, more work than you've ever put in a ring or a runway. But as long as you buy in, we'll be here with you every step of the way." Derek added, providing a more realistic take.
