"Not what I meant..." Davis said internally. Once they arrived in the classroom, Davis found a desk and took a seat. "I feel like I'm back in kindergarten..." Davis stated.

Uryuu marveled at how quickly time passed. His eyes glanced around at the nostalgically familiar building. In that moment, the older Jounin fancied himself remarkably weird. Most people would be feeling sad at the realization of having their younger lives behind them, but he could find no longing for the past anywhere in his heart. His moment of introspection was effectively finalized by the time he looked in the direction of his soon-to-be Jounin teammates. "I see no difference." He smiled fondly.

"The familiarity should aid them then." Shun said to Uryuu. With them and Takashi in the lobby and the others in the classroom, they couldn't see them directly, partly to help prevent possible cheating. In the lobby, the Rangers not involved in the exams could wait until the tests were complete.

Mayumi sighed as she was the last to arrive, looking around and making her way to the others. "Hey," she said, rubbing her arm. "We sure we're ready for this?"

"We better be." Aaron responded. "Because the odds of a Chunin being promoted after failing the Jonin exams the first time is almost zero."
"Thank you all for being here on time." Shizune walked into the classroom, closing the door behind her. "Thankfully, since it's the three of you this year, I can skip the formal introductions. I'll be your proctor for the written examination. To go over the rules, there is to be no use of your jutsu... or Ranger powers. The written phase will be two hours. You must pass to move on to the next phase. You may not leave this room during the examination." Shizune began passing the exams around to the trio along with pencils.
"Do you all have any questions before we begin?"

Mayumi bit her lip, looking at Shizune and the others before looking back up front. "Just...what happens if we fail?" she asked.

"If you fail, you resume your normal duties. Keep in mind that if you fail, you have to go through a whole new evaluation and recommendation period to which it's extremely rare for a Chunin to be granted permission to undergo these exams again should they fail their first attempt." Shizune responded, giving her the truth.

"The only thing I wonder if the next two phases will be different this time around. Given the past few years, this village has dealt with eventful times." Uryuu wondered, glancing at Shun as he stood beside him.

"I'm sure of it... given the times we are in I'm sure they've upped the difficulty some or at least provided some new scenarios and obstacles." Takashi finally spoke looking at Uryuu. "Given everything that happened with Proto... Konoha is surely going to find its top Jonin among this years candidates." He looked over to Shun. "How are Jonin exams in Otogakure?" Takashi asked Shun attempting to learn a bit more of their new team mate.

"The same village I haven't been to in almost four years?" Shun asked aloud, to make sure he heard the question correctly. "My time has been split between a prison cell, the woods, and this village along with any accompanying missions. I do not know specifically. What I do know is that these exams are under a joint sponsorship, so if no other shinobi are taking exams, it's safe to assume the Sound Village did not have any worthy candidates." Shun finished, doing his best from blurting out a snarky remark, instead choosing to answer plainly.

Takashi sighed. "Just to avoid any sarcasm I know nothing about you, your rank, how long you have lived in the sound... I don't know how if you have had said exams before you defected..." Takashi shook his head deciding he no longer had interest in the conversation. He leaned against the wall and crossed his arms looking over to Uryuu with an exasperated expression.
"Lets hope they fair well today." He said back to smiles.

"I've spoken on my rank. The blame is not on me if you failed to hear it or chose not to care because of your admitted bias at the time. I suppose my response did not make my answer to your question clear. Like the Chunin exams, this is a joint sponsored exam, so there's no difference between the official examinations between the villages. As for your knowledge of me is concerned, when you take the time to ask about me, I'll answer accordingly."
When Takashi was so quick to dismiss the conversation after not getting the answer in the exact manner he wanted, Shun took a seat, remaining silent, almost in a meditative state. It was no secret that the Sound's betrayal was a sore spot. Hopefully with the right care, that wound would heal in time.

"I know they will." Uryuu said, suppressing the urge to roll his eyes at Takashi. Between him and Shun, he had to be the mediator. The other thing is the more he grows, the awareness begins to kick and he opts to not coddle.
With a shake of his head, Uryuu chose to sit next to Shun. Unlike Takashi, he didn't mind the sarcasm since he's used to his friends. "You have a good point, Kurosaki-san. It's difficult to find the candidates especially as of late. I hope things do work out in the end." He said.

"So really, no pressure then," Mayumi said. "Fail, and it's back to square one." She rubbed her hands together, leaning back in her seat. "Yeah...don't need that. I have to prove that it wasn't a mistake when the Prism chose me before, and I have to know that this was the right path for me all along. No failing, Mayumi! Can't let yoru father have satisfaction in your defeat." she thought, trying to hype herself up.

"I just hope this is portion of the exam is less written and more multiple choice." Davis said internally before looking at Shizune. "We came this far. No stopping us now." Davis said trying to hype up his "classmates"
