I had a discussion with someone who just saw episode four of Dino Fury, today. And he thought that we might actually have an openly gay relationship in Power Rangers. But, I told him that I wouldn't mind the idea. However, I don't want this idea to be forced because of all this woke culture and gender politics b.s. that you see in almost every other movie and TV show, nowadays. Like, seriously, do you guys even care about all this gender politics and woke culture b.s. in movies and TV shows, nowadays?! Or do you prefer the good old days when we had good stories to tell and where characters weren't being identified by their genders, race or sexual orientations?! Because that's what worries me about the idea of having an openly gay character in an existing I.P. like Power Rangers. I don't mind the idea, but I just want it to be the main focus of what the character should be as he or she is being developed in their own storyline.
But that's about it. What are your thoughts on this idea? Should it happen right now, or not?

Ya no reason they can't or shouldnt. When a lot of kid programs in more recent years have gay characters or leads in shows and what not. It's not that big of deal as long as they do it right and not do it just to be pc about it.

As long as the bi/homosexual character is treated as a person first and not just some token.

Ya I hate when shows or movies are Justin doing lgbtq+ stuff just to be politically correct. Or changing for example like in super hero shows a character who was always say straight to a gay. I don't like that moves. But if you are doing it organically and story driven and it's not the only thing about the character. I am all fine with that. As lgbtq+ actors and characters are fine in my book again dine right. And I am all for those communities to be given more roles and be represented right.

I don't see the problem. But Power Rangers have always this problem, when it tries to do something socially relevant or "moral-of-the-day" plot, and sometimes backfires spectacularly. Like Troy in Megaforce facing bullies.....I know they had good intentions, but it was cringier than ever. For my part, I don't like romance of any kind in Power Rangers. Ninja Steel with Hayley and Calvin.....it was meh. Most cringe than anything. Probably a gay or lesbian character, but if they don't look like a token or a sterotype. I watched the new "LGBTQ" Captain America and my eyes rolled. It looked so stereotypical.

Yeah, I mean, Operation Overdrive, for example, as much I found the season to be mediocre at best, I did like one thing about Mack's storyline when he revealed that he was an android to the rangers and they were open-minded and they didn't care. To the other, he's still Mack Hartford, no matter what. THAT is how a character should be written organically and that was the perfect example of excepting other who are unique and different. But are just the same as us. That's why I am worried about the writers wanting to have an LGBTQ character in Power Rangers because I have a feeling that they are gonna treat the idea like it's a stereotype or a token just to get woke points if it does happen. But, I hope that I am proven wrong in the near-future.

Make a character who happens to be gay. Not a gay character. The difference matters.

I would hope they wouldn't take it as token only. As the franchise has been great over the years with having diverse cast and all that. So I would hope if/when they do decide to add lgbtq+ characters to the show it would be done right.

I think they can and should. When I think of this, I think of Light Speed Rescue Episode 4 then Kelsey met Nancy. You could tell they had a thing for each other but Saban was afraid to cross that line. They couldve easily ended that episode with them setting up a date with each other and we could never saw Nancy again but knowing Kelsey was gay wouldve carried out the rest of the season without being reminded 4 to 5 times. You also dont have to make it such a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT. Just treated it normal. I hate when shows come on and they make the gay character a surprise. On PR its not need. Make at normal with no shock value. Thats gonna come anyway cause its in demand. Also when Izzy ripped off that skirt in Din Fury... Im thinkin... Yeah she might be....... Am I the only one??

^Not every girl who doesn't like skirts has to be a lesbian. A good number of them are just tomboys yet are as straight as they come.

^Thank you. That kind of automatic assumption about Kelsey can be just as bad as making a stereotypical character. Plus, admiration doesn't equal attraction. Something fans of many different works lately don't seem to understand.
