Kida smirked, knocking Mayumi's leg out from under her. She sent the White Ranger crashing head first into JT's ribs, laughing as she got up. She rubbed her shoulder, looking down at JT. "Not bad, JT. You got an old wound from a Ridenio fight that never healed properly," she said. "Hit the scar and made it numb. Nice shot."
"Well thanks." JT rolled to her feet, rubbing her midsection. "Y'all aren't half bad yourselves. I actually got a good workout in today. She smiled, looking at her sparring partners.
Aaron made it back to the apartments and after taking a deep breath, went inside. He passed the gym and caught sight of the girls sparring. Instead of interrupting with some ego driven remark, he simply stood there, watching the girls spar with one another while weighing the pros and cons of Overseer's proposal.

Rina’s face grew serious as they walked out. “I have a pretty good feeling what he’ll have Ridenio attempt.” she said bluntly, shrugging and nodding. “Wouldn’t be the first time I was a test dummy for something.”
"You know I'm teasing, right?" Jameson asked, concerned for Rina. "I am playing about the whole "test dummy" thing."

JT let out a loud laugh at the sound of Kida and her old bones disagreeing with her. "I guess we can.." She noticed that Mayumi's attention was elsewhere. She looked in that direction to find Aaron was standing in the doorway. "Oh hey there, Frosty." JT greeted Aaron, perking up upon his arrival. "You just plan on standing there and drooling all day!?"
"Nah. I'm good." Aaron responded but his tone was devoid of his normal bravado. He saw all of the girls and Jaxon not far from the entrance and he continued to wonder if a Proto was buried inside of him somewhere and if so, how long until it comes out and hurts his friends or if maybe that dark personality is who he truly is and he's been fighting his true self all along. "I'll see y'all later." He spoke in a rather dry tone before going on his way, leaving the Pink Ranger worried and confused.
"Not again..." JT mumbled under her breath. "I wonder what's wrong with him?" She asked aloud.

“No, I know. But Basic Training was something else when your mentor was Bridge and he’d work on stuff with Boom. That’s the guy’s actual name, not a sound effect. Plus thousands of food concotions in Japan.” Rina said, shrugging.

JT let out a loud laugh at the sound of Kida and her old bones disagreeing with her. "I guess we can.." She noticed that Mayumi's attention was elsewhere. When Aaron walked in, the vibe Jaxon got was that of a very heavy mind. Hopefully, Mayumi would be able to help Aaron out with his woes of the brain. But after seeing the girls spar and get their aggression out, Jaxon decided to poke a little fun. "So Kida, I'm gonna assume this would be a bad time to bring up the whole "Taking Wrestling Bumps." that you owed me?" Jaxon chuckled.

I was gonna suggest it yesterday, but the wrestling camp that's been using the auditorium moved on down the road, headed for Mariner Bay, and these floors ain't that great to get slammed on, so....rain check," the Red Ranger smirked. She looked at JT, putting her hnd on the Pink Ranger's shoulder.
"He'll be ok. He's more open then I was, so we won't have anotehr Me situation on our hands. I promise."

Aaron opened his eyes when he heard Mayumi knocking on his door. A part of him really didn't want to talk to or be around anyone at the moment but knowing his friend like he does, he knows that she wasn't taking a simple no for an answer. "Come on." He responded, giving her permission to enter his home area.

Aaron opened his eyes when he heard Mayumi knocking on his door. Mayumi walked in and closed the door. She walekd over and sat across from Aaron, reaching out and putting her hand on his. "Whatever's bothering you, we can work it out," she said. "Just like we always have, ok? And don't try to hide your nightmares from me, Kane. I hear you yell when you wake up. It's Proto again, isn't it?"
She wouldn't admit it outloud, but she always worried that something would happen to the former Gold Ranger and he'd either leave or abandon them, and it hurt when she realized she was doing it. She knew about the nightmares from hearing him, but she also knew not to push or put him on the spot. Mayumi couldn't risk losing her friend...again.

Getting my ass kicked made me want a Triple Berry Smoothie and a big ass plate of fries." She glanced over at Jaxon and stuck her tongue out with a grin. "And yes, your dumb ass can come too."

Mayumi walked in and closed the door. She walked over and sat across from Aaron, reaching out and putting her hand on his. "Whatever's bothering you, we can work it out," she said. "You can't help me on this." Aaron pulled his hand away from her, not wanting to be comforted in this moment. "None of you can." After seeing the look on Mayumi's face, he sighed, as he didn't want to reveal Overseer's offer for fear of his friends being attacked, mainly when some couldn't protect themselves properly and others were so fractured, they'd be easy pickings anyway. "Look. it's not what you think. Proto isn't haunting me in the traditional way. Every day, I am at war with myself, knowing who I came from and that there's a decent chance that Proto can rise again." Aaron pointed to himself.
"When Kida, went on her tirade, I knew it wasn't true because I know what I'm capable of. I see it every night when I close my eyes! I see myself slaughtering my comrades each and every time whether it's you guys back home or this team here. The spandex design changes but the end result is always the same. This Proto... this may have been me the entire time and everything I've been doing over these months is suppressing who I was born to be."

The Pink Ranger wasn't enthused at all about leaving when another friend was in emotional peril to the point where she didn't even made a sarcastic remark regarding Kida's bumps and bruises or Jaxon trying to get someone in a wrestling ring. It bothered her even more so because Aaron spent so much time speaking with her the other day when her fury was at a fever pitch and she was ready to hurt someone. He helped to calm her down and put her in a better headspace where she didn't want to kick Rina's head off on sight, so to see him in a bad way and not being able to help him ate at her. "I'll meet you guys down here in a few once I get cleaned up." She left the gym, making her way back to her apartments.

Mayumi listened to what Aaron said, hearing his concerns. She felt bad that she hadn't done something to help him, like sit and listen, and instead kept dumping her own problems onto him. "You know that isn't true," she said. "Proto may have created you, but that isn't who you're destined to be."
"Nightmares or not, you aren't going to be like that. It's just your own psyche trying to trick you. I know that you won't succumb to whatever you're feeling, and you'll turn around and kick it's ass back to the hole it came from, give a snappy one-liner and grin about how awesom you are and I'll roll my eyes," she said with a small smile. "And besides, if, and this is an entirely hypothetical f, it happens, I will do my best to get my friend back, no matter what it takes. I swear."

Jameson, after appearing in the Command Center with Rina, was getting ready to get his hands dirty on fixing up Souls and having RIna test them out. He looked over as the alarms went off, and he sighed. "Never fails," he said, looking at Rina. Running over and checking the Viewing Globe, his eyes narrowed.
"Rangers, there's a new attack," he said, contacting the Rangers. "Near the Youth Center. Looks like a ninja and surrounded by Coronites. Get downtown fast!"
"Damn. Good thing I hadn't got in the shower yet!" Kida said. "You heard the man! Time to tussle, boys and girls!"

Rina looked at the viewing globe and narrowed her eyes. “I’ll meet them there morphed and get any civilans outnof harms way.” she said, grabbing her soul and flipping it open. “DINO STEEL!” she callled, morphing before teleporting near the Youth Center in a flash of green, running in and directing any civilians on the street out of the way.

Aaron heard what Mayumi had to say and it would be nice to be able to believe her words and move forward but this feeling was something that he couldn't shake, especially combined with the pending offer from Overseer. "Thank you but do this for me." He said, almost pleading with her. "If it does happen, I don't want another Kida situation. Let me be clear. If something happens, there is no argument. The others need to do what must be done and not hesitate because I fear what may happen if they do." He looked Mayumi square in the eyes. He knew that he was asking a lot of her and part of him regretted doing so but he also knew that if he didn't, the alternative could be disastrous. "If that means if I die, so be it." Aaron said, making things as plain as possible to eliminate any confusion.

Before Mayumi could respond properly, Jameson called them regarding an attack downtown. Normally, he'd be eager to get out there and show off his advances skills but this attack caused him to pause since it should have been happening. "I thought I had more time..." Aaron mumbled under his breath. He quickly thought that maybe if he got there first, he could wave off this attack to buy the team some more time but Rina got involved quickly, dashing his plan. "Damnit, Rina!" He cursed after communications were shut off on his end. He stood up.
"You should get to the Command Center." Aaron told Mayumi, stopping short of giving her a proper explanation. "DINO STEEL!" He shouted, quickly morphing into the Black Ranger before teleporting out to the downtown area where he found the Green Ranger directing civilians. He locked eyes with Ironmoon, silently cursing his presence here as he was sure that he had more time to consider the offer.

Like Kida, JT was nearing her apartment, still trying to process all that was going on, especially her being so upset over something appearing to be wrong with Aaron. Unfortunately, her shower and processing would have to wait. "Perfect damn timing!" She grumbled before flashing her morpher. "DINO STEEL!" She yelled before teleporting out in a flash of pink.
